PixxxGrabber is a simple but effective textual web browser with a powerful
option to download multiple files with a single mouse click.
PixxxGrabber does not cache any data. It simply does not need to, since it
only downloads the HTML-coded part of the web page, subsequently looks for
all the links that originate from the page and organizes them in 4 sections.
What's New
Version 2.5:
Improved file format import.
Improved image playback during download.
Improved download speed.
Updated documentation.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
Be the first to recommend a similar software title.
This app works pretty good. When pasting a URL into the main address window ditch the http:// or you will get an error window saying it can't find a file 'contents' on your local hdd.
Does not work with coppermine galleries.
Combined with pixxxsafe it's a good solution, but I find that if you use the browse feature of graphic converter you'll get better results, leaving pixxx to go the grabs.
This program is usefull for anyone who wants to d/l pictures off of the internet and not have to dig through each html page.
I'll prob. pay for this program. Will you release a universal binary?

There are multiple free programs to do this. Try WebGrabber.

Expensive shareware. Use Site Sucker or iCab.

Contrary to what's stated on this page, this app. is NO LONGER FREE with v.2.0 (booo!).
Imo, a shareware fee of $25 for it is over the top (booooo!).
I'd suggest you try SiteSucker, which is free and does the same thing as good as this app. does

Do NOT download this. It's a good idea, but its very badly written. Its slow, it hogs the entire system, i have no idea what it's doing in the background. What's worse: On startup, you are forced to visit the developers website, as a way to get people to buy that other pixx... software which is of course "shareware" (they want your money badly).
This could be a very useful piece of software, but it's just a trick to get attention for their company.
This could also be implemented as a PHP script to be run locally, probably with less interface comfort, but much higher speed, and code that you can trust...
And after taking a quick peek at their website myself, I can only think of one thing...

The application is 5.5MB! Runs way too slow, horrid user interface.
But that's what you get from most REALbasic applications now isn't it.

Well you have broken this app.
You now enter a URL, and click GO and nothing happens.

Whoa, now that's what I call a responsive developer. Proxy support and half a dozen other new options... in three days.
It would be nice if the "More info" toggle on the download was sticky.
How are you supposed to follow links? Clicking once doesn't do anything. Doubleclicking seems to reload the current page at least half the time.

Dude, there are like 10 new freeware apps a week on Mactracker that need HTTP proxy support, and don't have it. It's easy, simple, and the OS has support for it. Why doesn't anyone ever bother?
