I had major issues with this software... I had 2.0.2 and even though it previewed in and out points just fine, in almost all cases (iDVD and DVD recorder discs) packaged in image files, it failed to actually pull the proper start and end points..; most of the time it grabbed less than 50% of the stream, not including either the start or end, but the file sizes were correct. This is odd as it didn't seem to have this problem with physical discs... which is silly, since you can use MacTheRipper for free to take anything off of physical DVDs (which I do for all the stuff that comes off my Sony DVD-Recorder).
I also find the interface for segment selection horribly busy, it seriously needs to make things simpler... it works, but is overly complex.

However, after demanding a refund on this, the regular version, since it wouldn't work right, they seemed to have corrected the non-physical disc issues quite nicely in the Pro version... it may be corrected in this version... 2.0.7, but since I moved up to the pro version (thanks dev!), I don't know.

after futzing around with various beta and 1.0 versions of software, and getting more and more frustrated, i finally DL'd the demo of this software, ran the app, watched the 10-second sample the demo allows - and promptly bought the app. its that good.

fer chrissake, you can even output to 4:2:2 uncompressed QT with full AIFF audio - yes, married together in one perfectly synced QT file. and then go out through QT 7 to format the baby for your iPod G5.

you can also output chapters as separate files, which is useful for iPod-destined programming.

thanks folks...

Yes this program is good, I've been using it for over a year and it has gotten me out of some painfull situations. Nothing else comes close to the ease of use and reliability of this app. Do yourself a favour and cough up the dollars because it's worth every penny.
And no I don't know or even care about the author of this program, but they have done a really good job.

Of course; the DVD needs to be ripped to strip off the copy protection.

Purchased version 2.0.1 yesterday after trying the demo. A great piece of software for quickly extracting clips from self-made DVD's and then editing them in either iMovie or Final Cut Pro. It did the job perfectly!!!
Also the support you get from Miraizon is superb, a five star rating.
If you are into home movies, use a dvd camera and want to edit them, I highly recommend this product.

I'm only using version 1.03, but it is a wonderful application that does its job very well and very fast! I have just imported a full DVD with 58 minutes of video into my iBook G4 in about 8 minutes... Great!
