Apart from (apparently) going nuts on the level at which file's are shredded, in what way is this better than the Secure Empty Trash feature built into recent versions of Mac OS X?
Seriously, the only reason to use this app is to waste time messing with your computer, which is perfectly fine. But actually spending money on this thing is crazy.
If this was open source, I'd have downloaded it and probably given a five star review.
Because the developer does not make them available, never does, not for any of his apps.

Why is it that this application tries to connect to 72.1.148.109 speakeasy.net? I found this out after running the application for the first time.

This latest version (20030922) appeared to download fine and expanded properly. However, the application will not launch. Earlier versions work fine on my system. Replacing the new version with a prior one corrects the non-launching problem.

Why is that? This kind of policy is viewed with suspicion in the security field.
