Safari Bookmark Exporter is designed to do one thing and do it well: export bookmarks from Safari (now isn't that intuitive?). You simply launch the application, click "Analyze Bookmarks", select your desired browser, click "Export Bookmarks", and then save the bookmark file to the desired location. Safari Bookmark Exporter is also smart enough to know where the default location of the bookmark files are, so you don't need to figure that out in order to have your desired browser recognize your new set of bookmarks. SBE did a good job sending the Safari bookmarks over to Firefox. Thanks for developing it.
Complaints
1. There shd be a way for the exporting to be done so that the receiving browser doesn't have its existing bookmarks erased. "Frednow"'s post at Mozillazine gave good advice on how to do this.
2. After the type of merging of bookmarks described in 1., it wd be nice if there were a purge function as well that weeded out redundant bookmarks.
3. The first menu that comes up is a bit confusing. Too many choices where it's not clear how they will interact.
Thanks. / Walter

Re. your request for merge function -- this is a feature I wished for and have used via a program I registered called BookIt (v3.5)
(important note - in the demo version, you can resort, and merge bookmarks to see results, but no results are saved to your browsers till you register)
However, it has not been updated yet for latest Tiger/Safari 201 which has changed the Safari bookmark file format from plain xml (text) to the Apple binary format...

Wow! The fast fix I have ever done. 4 clicks and less than 1 minute. That also included the down load.

That was fast.
I just updated to 1.08 yesterday, after reading a help-hint at Macworld (yesterday).
Anyway, thanx!

That was extraordinarily simple. I wish I had known about this program a long time ago. Apple should definitely consider bundling this program with the OS. It took a grand total of three clicks to import my bookmarks into my other browsers. Heck, the program even knew where to send them without me having to search. This program is the true definition of ease-of-use.

A classic utility improved. It's so good and so perfectly useful that Apple should bundle this with the OS.
