Great, another cheesy Filemaker Pro app. FMP is great for custom database solutions, but it's so lame when a developer uses it to build a relatively simple shareware applications, and then turns around and sells that application. I guess this might be worthwhile if there weren't any recipe database managers for Mac OS X, but with several brilliant recipe managers for OS X (some free) and literally dozens more available, this Filemaker generation is actually a bit insulting to Mac users.

I could not disagree with XENOPHILE more. I first used this program years ago when OS X was introduced. I was using MasterCook at the time, which only ran on OS 9 and was not updated. I have found CWD perfect for my use. I have a very large data file and the program works flawlessly. Customer support is superb. I have tried every major Mac recipe program out there - both freebies and the others. I prefer CWD to all of them.

A program based on FileMaker Pro is an asset, not a liability. As FMP gets updated, CWD is also updated.

CWD is a solid program with great support by the developer. It does the job it is designed to do superbly.

Well, count me among those who thoroughly dislike the interface, which is a product of FMP. If I had wanted crappy looking GUIs and no continuity between apps, I'd have stayed with Windows long ago. I'm it's functionality is fine...but I can't stand the look and feel.

This applicatoin is a delight. After trying other cooking software, i remembered wh I hate using databases. They only seem to make sense to the people who wrote the things. But this one was better, and even more creditably, they made often-stodgy looking Filemaker pleasant! Better than A Cooks's Books - why? For starters, its empty when you get it! Good work guys, now I just have to learn how to cook...

not going to rate this, but filemaker apps are pretty much crap. just an opinion, I know, but yum! and a cook's books, while not nearly as feature-rich, are far more enjoyable to use.

With MasterCook being no longer supported for the Macintosh, CookWare Deluxe comes to the top of available choices! This software is based on FileMaker Pro which provides a very stable application. The features list is a growing list and now has a great number. The support from the company is surpassed by none! (MS & Apple could take a lesson!) Value for the cost of $19.95 is 200%!

one of the few that will read the dying MMF file I'm afraid. HOWEVER, import in SMALL files, it has tendecy to crash on import like 'gourmet', which cannot run on OSX.
[pyGTK isssues]

It also takes FOR-EV-ER to import, doesn't matter the speed of your machine.

CONS: not available for linux[GTK]

CONS: for just MMF it sort of a waste, but if you care to share its all good.I WANT BOTH.Would prefer MacGourmet to ACTUALLY be a port of 'gourmet', but that's not going to happen.MacGourmet hangs on import and refuses to continue, where 'gourmet' will not. THis app will take forever, then stop importing altogether on that large mmf file.[>1000 recipies]

NOTE:some recipe people have been very bad inserting fuzzy chars and 'book like'commentary. These are supposed to be recipies, not cheap publishing apps.

I dont want an ebook, just the recipie.
