Audio batch processor.

Overview

Myriad is, simply put, one of the best audio batch processors. Totally redesigned, it looks beautiful and delivers incredible performance. Let Myriad do the heavy lifting while you get back to doing what you do best: creating great sounds and music.

  • One powerful productivity tool - Myriad packs a serious punch in a beautiful interface. With more than 100 Actions and many other great features, Myriad helps you work more efficiently, saving you countless hours that you can spend creating.
  • Goodhertz SRC - The Goodhertz Sample Rate Converter has the ideal balance between frequency response and transient response -- two of the most important characteristics of any sample rate converter. This means that it does its job with the least possible sonic impact, preserving crystal-clear high end while also maintaining sharp transients. The Goodhertz SRC has virtually zero aliasing with performance better than -192 dB, meaning it is error-free at lowest amplitudes.
  • Good Dither - When reducing the bit depth for the destination format, the application of dither noise prevents distortion and quantization error. Compared to some long-standing dither algorithms, Goodhertz Good Dither produces better noise reduction without excessive noise shaping. Good Dither also has a wider, flatter noise reduction region which contributes to higher performance in the most critical areas.
  • AppleScript - Robust support for AppleScript ensures that Myriad plays well with others.
  • Notifications - Now that Myriad fully supports Notification Center, you can let it work behind the scenes.
  • Commands - All keyboard commands in Myriad can be customized, saved and shared.
  • File Naming - Rename files with ease with Myriad's new drag-and-drop file naming tokens.

Myriad has a serious chuckle factor! (More on that later...) Like all Audiofile Engineering's professional-level apps, Myriad's interface is minimalist, even Spartan. The approach is obviously a design to keep distractions out of the way, but make the tools ready when you need them--and they are there in abundance. Myriad can tackle almost any audio format and can apply a wide range of actions and filters. Its Details pane provides all the information you can imagine for any of the files added to its resource list, and its Process pane allows you to build rich workflows which can be saved and shared, shortening or lengthening files, dividing them into segments, adding AU filters, changing pitch or speed, normalizing or compressing, and even uploading to services such as SoundCloud. And if you cannot find the function you need, Myriad can be extended through AppleScript. Its speed is impressive, ripping through workflows, and you will never have to wonder whether a file survived the process or if a problem arose somewhere in the process chain: Myriad's log files are extensive. Audiofile Engineering has brought the world of sound design and entertainment a madly serious tool for handling the tedium of processing files. If you work with music or voice, taking Myriad for a spin will give you that experience all professionals have when they work with a tool which is so thorough, so attractive, and so fulfilling that it makes him chuckle. Yep, chuckle factor, guys, and Myriad has it to 0dB.

I just purchased Myriad 4 as part of the MacUpdate promotion package. The install wiped out my Soundflower installation, so be careful.

I used many different audio batch tools and this clearly is the best you can get. There are tons of useful scripts to choose from and you can create your own. Very simple but effective GUI makes this a breeze to use. Not 5 stars because I think it is priced too high imo
