This is a To-Do app that's slowly getting there. Overall, the UI has improved by being feature rich while maintaining simplicity. It still lacks in some areas such as robust custom repeats, contact linking for email or phone calls, and acceptable speed performance. I'd give it a B- to C+ but it has a single feature that's missing from my previous favorite, 2Do, and that's Exchange-based accounts. I'd say in a year or two, this could be the best To-Do application out there, especially with the iOS versions. In fact, I'd try the iOS apps first before making the investment in the Mac version...for this app development, that'd be the proper horse before the cart.

Information displayed in this app is organized very clearly, with scalable fonts, and is very customizable. The iOS version work just as well. Couldn’t ask for more.

Translating "a B- to C+" to 4 stars was pretty generous. What do you think about GoodTask 3 in its current state?

Yes, I really wanted to give it a 3.5 stars back in 2016, yet felt it too low to give it 3.

I recently tried GoodTask 3 out again, in version 4.3 I believe. I definitely saw improvements, most especially in performance. It's quicker to open, create Quick Tasks, and to react to keystroke commands. I liked the "Dark" mode, and still think it does the best job of "minimal meets plenty" among the Mac to-do apps. It seems a great fit for any individual or family up to small business as a task management solution.

My only real issue has been GoodTask's handling of subtasks on iOS; these are coded entries within the parent's Note section rather than separate tasks linked to the parent task. So if you ever switch from GoodTask, any subtasks are "lost" to the new solution within single task notes. Suffice to say, I use subtasks quite regularly and am reluctant to give into this solution.

After extensive use of GoodTask (#2), Todoist (#3), OmniFocus (#4), Wanderlist (#5), and Things (#6), I still feel the best overall to-do app, on both Mac and iOS, is 2Do. No beauty queen, but strong, fast, feature-filled, excellent iOS-to-Mac sync...it handles reminders with no issues.
