i'd like to know why the search begins at fatfingers.co.uk, then goes to things like apmebf.com, and adfarm etc before finally landing at ebay. seems a bit suspicous to me.

Yes this is a kind of spy ware (as mentioned in previous post) in the sense that you go thru some other website (giving them infos... what exactly ?) before going to the eBay web site. Personnaly, i have nothing against a sofware that pays the developer without costing me anything, but i would like to know what infos are transmited. I imagine my search, my IP... that's ok, but i wound't want to see my email address or anything like that being sent away. If only the developer was a bit more honest and told us what was going on. Same for his site (that works the same way as the widget) there no infos, no FAQ... discreation about the indiscreation ;)

Because that's how the developer gets paid, silly. Those sites capture your IP et al for spam. No, I don't think it's right that he doesn't tell you that, but OTOH you were expecting something for nothing ... Anyway, don't like it? Don't use it. Looking for mispellings on Ebay can certainly be done manually.

i dont think it is silly to expect something for free. there are tons of complex open source applications out there right this second. this is a very basic piece of javascript, is it too much to ask for it to be free in all ways? i don't think so. so, yes, i won't use it. thanks for reminding me i had that option.... my comment's intention was to point out to others a possible problem though, not to get that useful possibility from you.

"TEH COMPNEYS USE TEH IPEE ADRESSES TO SPAEM YOU!!11" Please. This guy provides a valuable service and being redirected a couple of times through ads that you don't see is not a big deal at all. You are on a MAC. No need to be this paranoid.
