Great app., but the price point is too high. Maybe $19.99 is more reasonable for what it does, IMHO.

One of the best color scheme apps I know. I used it very often until it crashed with an update of mac os x. Since then I could use mac os x's eyedropper no more too. +++ Since 10.13 both work perfectly again! +++

Having paid for Color Schemer Studio myself and having used it all the time for work, It's made me upset that it hasn't worked for so long. As a developer myself I found that the color picking part is so important to me, that I needed to write something to at least let me pick colors easily so I started to write my own, and made it open source. If you guys are interested in taking a look it's on my GitHub page at the moment. I'm working on getting it submitted to the App Store. https://github.com/NorgannasAddOns/ColorDial I would certainly appreciate any feedback.

Too bad the developer didn't continue with this app. It was definitely the best color picker and theme saver for the Mac. It won't work with Yosemite and I've given up and written it off, after using it happily for several years and recommending it to many others. Off to use another.

It's always been a little crashy - but I haven't noticed it's any worse on yosemite. Also, the information on this page is a little out of date - the app was updated in 2011(version 2.1) and is available on the AppStore for about $20.

Unfortunately Color Schmer was left to die as it seems. I have found a replacement for it and Tangerine. It is called Colors pro which comes with a plug-in. So far it is much better and seems to get updates on a regular basis and can import Color Schmer palettes.

"Left to die" had now become "completely dead" in Yosemite. The app crashes whenever you choose the color picker which renders it completely useless for all practical purposes. The Mac App Store version reviews confirm this fate as well.

I'm really having a hard time understanding why this developer didn't/ doesn't keep us with this app. It was clearly the best of it's kind (and I mean by far at one point). The outrageous thing to me is that these developers are still selling this ancient version of the software on their site (as well as the app store which has many very unhappy purchasers calling for it to be removed). I love (and have spent several thousand bucks over the years) supporting independent developers but this is a classic lesson to always look at when the last update occurred. With Apple rolling out new versions of OS X every year or so now third party software updates should (for the most part) coincide. Beware when you see something that hasn't been updated in four years.

Thanks info_354 for the recommendation on Colors Pro, I'll definitely look into it and give it a spin. It looks like it's being updated appropriately.
