Allows many virtual desktops.

Overview

VirtualScreens is a small app that resides in the System Status Bar (the rightmost part of the menu bar) of Mac OS X (Jaguar and Panther). It enables unilimited "virtual screens". A virtual screen is simply a user-defined set of active (visible) applications. When the user changes the virtual screen, the applications that were visible are hidden, and the hidden applications that belong to the new virtual screen are shown. In this way, you can reduce the cluttering on your screen and organize the running applications in the way that's most convenient to you.

What's new in VirtualScreens

Version 2.0.1:
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some apps from being hidden on changing screen under certain situations

Requirements for VirtualScreens

  • Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later

works as advertised, but Desktop Manager is so much better. Plus, the icon for this looks like the Windows logo.

NO. You are dead wrong... there are older versions of Desktop Manager that work with previous versions of OS X. This happens often, a developer updates a given software and it is no longer supported under older OS X versions, but the developer keeps older versions of his software available for download for use with older OS X versions... Agreed... Sets up the multiple desktops as it should, but Desktop Manager has this all taped down by now.
