AudioFinder

5.9.27
23 June 2019

Manage your audio sample library.

Overview

AudioFinder is an audio asset management system and music production hub. It gathers all the most useful tools in one quick and intuitive application, enabling you to be more creative by handling all the time consuming tasks that slow down your music production.

AudioFinder can build a catalog of every sound on your system, save it, and search it instantly to find the sounds you need when you need them. Use it to create custom sets for sound categories and specific projects, with fast file browsing to audition, analyze, process, convert, and move or copy the samples in your library.

AudioFinder can visualize sounds instantly with the waveform overview and preview them at any pitch via MIDI or the built in keyboard, all in real-time. Sounds can even be previewed through your favorite AudioUnits. Speaking of plug-ins, AudioFinder features an advanced plug-in manager and a slew of other studio necessities that will make your workflow flow. Necessities like the metaeditor with built-in beat detection and tools for fast trimming, fading, slicing, and dicing your sounds. You can even convert your audio sample CDs into individual files with just a few clicks of the mouse.

What's new in AudioFinder

Version 5.9.27:
  • Added a new menu preference: Options->Show Waveform Preview. When not enabled the Audio Quick Look will not update and will speed up selection.
  • Fix spotting selections to ProTools and Logic! Sorry for the time it took to find this bug.
  • Bug Fixes.

Requirements for AudioFinder

The best of its class and from an independent developer. It is good to know there are still devs out there who care about what users need and don't just tweak minor things to charge for another update. Sure, there are other less expensive audio tools available, but none, really NONE of them can be compared with this professional product. If you need more than just converting your audio files, give AudioFinder a try.

5.5.6 Released Changes in version 5.5.6 Added caching of Scans and Scan Sets. Last results are auto-saved, simply double click or click the refresh button to rescan. Any Scan or Scan Set Sidebar item can now be dragged to a Sidebar Group for quick access. Added “Make Scan Set” to the “Context Menu. Added a milliseconds option to the Process->Trim and Fade panel. Added the scroll bar back to the Sample Tool on 10.7 and greater for easier navigation of large sounds. Bug fix on Lion and Mountain Lion the Sidebar items imported from Finder’s Sidebar were not properly being restored. Fixed a drawing glitch in the Sample Tool when zoomed into maximum level. I would rather say that it cost a lot of money. I don't agree though that the price is expensive considering what you get in features and functionality. I bought my license a long time ago and have nothing but positive experiences since. However, a price adjustment would be welcome. Specially in this day and age when you even can pick up Logic Pro 9 for 150 euros in the appstore. The combo audifinder and logic is awesome, and while $70 for audifinder was totally ok against Logics once 1000 euros, it is harder to swallow against today's prices. The days of expensive audiosoftware are running out. Rather lower price and more sales than high prices and high piracy I guess. Although in the case of Logic it is of course another way for apple to hook pc users. There is no doubt in my mind that apple went from the expensive and hardware dongle protected Logic 7 to the much cheaper and serialnumber protected Logic 8 in order to give producers yet another reason to go the mac route. Ok. I'll stop rambling now. Medication time anyway ;P

I'd rather pay this price than see them go out of business like Peak did.

AudioFinder and Amadeus Pro are a strong team in my recording studio. Updates are free albeit you can donate to the costs of improving the application (s). I strongly recommend both applications using both ever since they first were issued.

AudioFinder has been 100% Snow Leopard compatible since 4.9.7. Have not received any tech support emails with 4.9.7 or later in regards Snow Leopard. AudioFinder is built and developed on Snow Leopard exclusively. I suggest if you have issues, you email for free tech support.
