Does it also password protect preferences files and profiles? Take Firefox and Safari for instance; bookmarks being stored outside these applications, what if they are locked but anyone can sneak into bookmarks files? The Console is password protected but log files are accessible easily. Same thing for mailboxes.

It unregistered itself after an update, and now it want to connect "again" to register. I hate applications that requires to register online, even more if it unregisters itself after an update so I have to allow it to connect. I just think I won't be needing it anymore.

This applications is amazing. I'm considering buying as it really worth the price. Moreover, its Browser can almost replace the Finder with better implemented photos zooming; I like to use it in place of the Finder.

In that regard, would it be possible to add some functions that would make it more usable as a Finder replacement, Get Info on Folders/Files and an Eject button for DVD/CD and Disk Images?

Sometimes I have to open Disk Images complete with photos, and since it's possible to move them elsewhere directly from the GraphicConverter Browser, I would also like to be able to eject the disk image from it. Thanks.

You can't stop the background scanning and it's using 50% CPU. I had to uninstall it when my Mac became so hot with fans at full speed non-stop.

Yes, but i would like not to stop the background scanning when a file is downloaded or a usb thingy is inserted. The problem is the process is always working, even when it's not suppose to. And it's using 50% CPU all the time, which is a lot.

Beware that when Webshield is enabled (default), Avast! forwards all your connections through a proxy of their own; Every site you connect to is therefore logged by them; Everytime you open the software, even when you install it, it connects and sends your infos to Google Analytics; It installs a browser plugin that also connects to Google Anaytics. It uses Curl (a system process) to send analytics info to their servers... In facts, it does many things a good malware shoud do. And if it was labelled as so, I would rate it a 5-Stars.

This app is amazing. I use it at work over a network on huges disks with tons of files (where Spotlight fails to index those drives properly) and it finds my queries in no time. I also tried Find Any File but it has less options. It could use a better icon though.

I really like this app; can't hardly do without. But why in the world does it need to call home at ramdom? There's no box to tick off in the prefs to prevent it.

Wondering why it's phoning home at launch. To check for updates? If so, I'd prefer a way to uncheck it in the preferences, which is not possible.
