Ever since version 2.8.0, I haven't been able to maintain transfers above about 1Mbps (on a 30Mbps connection). Doesn't matter what the torrent is, how many are running, etc - the combined performance just never exceeds 100-120KB/sec. It also has a tendency to crash once a torrent completes. Reverted to 2.7.7 and everything is fine, so it's not ISP throttling or my system.

It's certainly a pretty app, but this pattern of "rename the app to get people to purchase it again" isn't something I'm going to reward.

Cross platform (whether QT, Java, etc) is the antithesis of lightweight. Needless abstraction layers adds libraries, space, and memory, impairs performance, and least common denominator usability.

Lightweight is native code, finely tuned.

Would you like to rip off the interface of Reeder a little more, perhaps? Wait, that's not possible. Everything 0 from the layout, the service icons on the upper right, to the "unique" (and arguably less usable) search interface beneath the middle column, this is a straight-up copy of Reeder.

(All the more jarring when the MacUpdate RSS item shows up inside Reeder itself!)

So for those of us who were using the MAS version, any tips on migrating to the non-MAS one? As others noted, it won't just pick up the library automatically, and syncing from the server won't preserve local notebooks.

I used to like that the App Store freed me from watching for and downloading updates, but this is now three updates in a row that haven't shown up at all there!

Thanks! It wasn't clear to me before, as Evernote doesn't bother migrating anything *until* you log into an account. It also doesn't migrate over any application preferences.

I'm glad to see it could migrate the MAS data, but that should have been the first thing it checked for - then it should have migrated all accounts and preferences in one fell swoop.

These don't appear to be the release notes we're looking for.

Not that you have any choice in patching, but be aware that it's all but unplayable on the Mac right now.

Does the job, and does it well. Provides immediate visual notification that a page offers RSS feeds (although I'd like an option for the button to show an orange RSS icon, if possible), and allows selecting any feed desired. Integration with Google Reader is icing on the cake, making it even better than what Safari previously offered.

Good stuff.

Ah, it's always refreshing to update a review and improve it. The "card view" from the previous Lion full screen mode has been vastly improved and better integrated with other views (it's sortable, configurable, can show the note to the side, etc). Speaking of full screen, it now matches the standard view, just full screen - the way every other program works, and it's fantastic. Finally, they added in built-in account sign out and switching. Not the most streamlined, but it works and obviates the need for things like Evernote Account Switcher.

The only thing keeping me at 4 stars instead of 5 is that text editing and manipulation is still really wonky. Cursor keys don't move as expected (press down arrow in a table, for instance), copy/past still changes your paragraph breaks (adding and removing them at random), and generally needs some debugging.

Even so, I think this is enough to convert me to a paying customer, so it's a win for Evernote. :-)

This has worked for me before, but lately (sadly, not sure when it stopped working) it's been failing more than it's been working. All manner of flash ads and videos have been showing up where none did before. Running a completely up-to-date Lion system - 10.7.2, Safari 5.1.2, ClickToPlugin 2.5.4, Flash 11,0,1,152 (whatever *that* means).

Ever since the last few versions, NNW crashes a few times a day. So it's a choice between either an old version that doesn't sync properly or a current version that crashes all the time. I've sent dozens of crash reports, but no updates.

My copy of TV Shows (2.0b6r2) froze/crashed System Preferences on first use. Subsequently it appears to be working, but always says "Last Checked: Never", and hasn't downloaded any new torrents. Is there a LaunchAgent/Daemon that I should check for?

A reboot seems to have fixed it. Perhaps whatever periodic check process (whether via launchd or some other mechanism) wasn't loaded properly? The prefpane was installed for "All Users".

After all this time it still doesn't support tunneled SSH connections properly. For instance:

Local: MacBook Pro, 1440x900
Remote: Mac Mini, 1024x768

ssh -L 5902: mini

This will tunnel any request for port 5902 on the local machine to the remote mini over SSH (I use 5902 because I already have VNC servers running locally on 5900 and 5901). When I use JFVNC to connect, I get the picture of the remote system in a window the size of the local system. No other VNC client does this on any platform I've used (Ubuntu, UltraVNC, Palm microVNC, Apple's Screen Sharing, Chicken, etc).

Reported for the last six months at least, no progress. I'd really like to use this, but for now I just can't.

It doesn't support it over an externally created tunnel. I don't see any built-in functionality for creating SSH tunnels in JFVNC.

Also, I've since seen this same behavior when connecting to UltraVNC on my Thinkpad, without an SSH tunnel. The screen shows up, but stretched to the size of the host machine.

This unfortunately makes this software completely useless for me.

Modified for user name and IP's:
ssh -XC -L 5903: jochs@mini

Deleted preferences and used default settings, other than IP's and ports (obviously).

Mini, Screen

Mini, JollysFastVNC, direct connection:

Mini, JollysFastVNC, SSH tunnel:

Thinkpad, Screen (scrolls, as the Thinkpad screen is taller than my local screen):

It's hard to tell in that last Thinkpad screenshot, but it is stretched horizontally. UltraVNC is the Windows VNC server.

Aqua4iTunes doesn't work with iTunes 7.1 (released today). Running it will break the "Library" view or any non-iTunes store view. Uninstall is also broken, much to my disappointment (Applescript error).

One of the users over on SourceForge rewrote the weather.xml file, which is used to parse results for city searches. In a nutshell, you can search for city names again (but not zipcodes).

I've wrapped it up in a nice AppleScript front-end and posted it here:

It seems the preference to always open graphics at 100% is broken; even with this set my files frequently open at 24%, 17%, etc. It gets very annoying having to keep hitting Command-= every time.

And don't get me started on the Intel version not importing preferences from the PowerPC version...

Am I missing something, or is there no address book integration? I've spent weeks integrating all of my contact info from multiple sources (Mail, Address Book, Palm, etc) and I'd really like to leverage all of that in Adium.

Otherwise, excellent software!

No, not quite what I mean. What it does now is simply looks up your full name and picture if you give it an IM user id. What I want is for Adium to automatically add any IM address in my Address Book to my buddy list, preferably checking for changes on launch, so if I add a new IM address for someone, they show up automatically in Adium.
