I have Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and this procedure worked for me (after many failed attempts resulting in Safari hanging when I tried to use the Service, it dawned on me there could be a permission problem accessing the file from my standard user account):

1. CLOSE all open apps/programs. Very important!
2. Install the software
3. locate Print Selection.service inside Macintosh HD/Library/Services/Print Selection.service

NOTE: I was blocked from seeing the contents of this Services folder due to system settings. I had to click the folder to select it, Cmd+i to get info, then go to the bottom of the window and click the lock icon and enter the administrator user name and password. Then I was able to change my user privileges to Read/Write and access the file.

3. Copy the application to Macintosh HD/System/Library/Services (optionally, copy it to your user's Services folder as well: /Users/[username]/Library/Services)
4. Log Out and Log back In
5. You may also need to Open Services Preferences (Safari-Services-Services Preferences), and in the Keyboard Shortcuts section, enable Print Selection.

This resulted in it working for me, for my machine, and for my OS version :) Good Luck!

*And apparently I can't count (sorry, short text entry box, didn't catch the error!) but I don't see an Edit option...so, please overlook the fact that there are two #3 steps heheh. I guess you could think of it as 3a and 3b!
