Good:
- One of the best word processors available for OS X. Mellel is rock solid (it seems to never crash) and it has great features for writing long documents (like TOCs, change tracking, comments, cross references) but some features also need impovements (tables...) or still need to be implemented (captions...).
- The new comments feature works very well.
- Support is fast when bugs are discovered and reported.

Not so good:
- Support is sometimes slow when asking questions or making feature requests.
- Version 3.3 introduces an usage tracking feature which is on by default. That means that the first chunk of data is sent before you can disable this „feature“. The „anonymised“ usage data is sent to „Google Analytics“. To disable the tracking: Select the „Privacy“ entry from the „Help“-menu and deselect the checkbox there. Because the text of the privacy information is located on the internet it could change any time.

This is one of the apps I use nearly every day (since the year 2005!). The developer is very friendly. Sometimes I asked for a new feature and the requested feature „magically“ appeared in the next update. Taco HTML Edit is very stable. I use it mostly in conjunction with Transmit (an FTP Client) and for local editing of html, css and php files.

Not all my apps are written with XCode so uploading them to the Mac App Store requires additional tweaking and some interaction with the terminal. If I forget something or if I do something the wrong way then my app could be rejected. Here is where App Wrapper is very helpful because it takes care of most of the stuff I need to do to my apps to get them into the Mac App Store.
App Wrapper works as advertized and saved me already a lot of time when publishing or updating my apps in the Mac App Store.

Note: The current version is 2.0.1

I use Bookends together with Mellel for my dissertation and the integration of both apps is very good. My favorite feature: Live Bibliography.
Bookends support is very good and fast.

It is fun to write programs with this software. While I mostly write software for macs I like the ability to make a Windows version of the app only with minor changes to the code. Cocoa support is quite mature in this version (2012 R1).
l published 2 apps to the Mac App Store which I wrote with Real Studio. To codesign the app, to enable sandboxing and to make an installer package I used a 3rd party tool because I do not like to fiddle with the terminal ;-)
The user forums at Real Software are very helpful too.
