Have they made it possible to make the window smaller as it was in v2.x and not be a pig taking up FAR too much space on the screen? Have they removed the infernal advertising from the window if you are a paid user? Have they corrected the issue with the older version where it's not possible to initiate a video chat with a newer version or a version on a PC?

No to all of the above, which is why it continues to get horrible ratings and is one of the worst pieces of junk software written for a its current form anyway.

I clicked a link from Macintouch to look at this app. They have two movies side by side on the home page. One for Standard and one for Pro. The only difference in the two movies seemed to be direct FTP upload for pro. In fact both movies were titled as STANDARD. Such an obvious glaring error on the website of a Website Creator?! For this price a lot should be right without elementary errors on their own site. It is of some concern that newer versions aren't compatible with sites from just 3 point versions ago as posted here.

I did took a serious look at this app..for about 5 minutes. It has promise when it gets a little bit more professional perhaps.

Please look around the net for reviews before buying. Amazon and others have them. Unless something has changed drastically with this program you may want to heed the reviews.

While Handbrake does an okay job at converting, there are aspects of it that simply are not acceptable.

Namely, the thing uses 100% core CPU when converting. Any other video app I use, uses WAY less processing power.

The dev should limit the usage somehow. It's not acceptable for my machine to show 100% CPU usage and for Activity Monitor to show 780% processor usage! (an obvious BUG someplace.

Worst is, when Handbrake - which is the ONLY app I use that ever comes close to maxing my i7 CPU - is running, temps of the CPU climb to 92 degrees celsius (and yes I have excellent cooling)! This is NOT healthy for a processor and WILL cause processor fail and low lifespan. A lot of video apps give you a plain choice whether you want to utilize all CPU. Not this one and I won't use it because I don't want it burning out my machine prematurely. It's just stupid that it arbitrarily does this. Huge Huge shortcoming.

While I think this is an extremely useful program, the reporting of Network Thoughput is terribly inaccurate. It always tells me my upstream is going at 750-900k when uploading, even though my connection won't even support those upload speeds. My max connection is 625k out, and other monitoring apps do indeed report the correct thoughput. This one is off by a whole lot.

It's really unfortunate that Ambrosia has abandoned Snow Leopard with this. The widget was always a great tool, this is miles ahead but can't be used on Snow...I'm majorly disappointed with this.

Two minuses: Must purchase from Mac App Store, and no Snow Leopard version. Stupid Macpaw.

Not sure how this is getting such good reviews. Damn thing hangs for like 3 to 30 seconds every time I select the icon of a dupe in the window. Preview mode is off. Should not beach-ball me for that long. Does it on selecting a single file, not command-clicking multiples. 16 gigs of ram and a fast, well maintained Mac should never see things like this in any app. Especially running a SSD drive.

Kinda wondering what you missed about "well maintained Mac." There is no issue with my drives, I run regular maintenance. My drives don't need repair they are flawless, and permissions repair is just a stupid suggestion. Would you mind telling the Mac Community in detail how repairing permissions would do anything whatsoEVER for a THIRD PARTY application hanging up as described above?

This app is spyware/adware/spamware, unethical and deceptive. Please do not install this on your Mac. For more info visit this site (not mine, but good info).

Childish interface. Purposeful name to trick people, this is NOT Mac DVD Ripper Pro.

Hard-locked my machine the first time I tried it.

Suspicious giveaway just to get downloads and try to promote a lame unuseful product.

Probably one of those windows devs that includes ad-ware in their windows apps...just my opinion, but this smells foul.

Into the trash with's a ripoff even for free.
