Was a supporter of Parallels over VMware for a long time, that was until I had to use their support, all I got was scripted replies and when escalated... no one replied AT ALL...

Wish I could get my $49 back from the upgrade to 8 and spend it on VMware Fusion!

If there is a feature missing from InsomniaX 2.0.x you can transplant the Insomnia.kext file and use the older InsomniaX 1.3.5 version.

This update to Snow Leopard comes with no promises of working operations, a recode is in progress from a 3rd party but it is on going.

Support from semaja2.net and future updates are unlikely but we do respond to some and will update in cases like this.

I would also like to remind everyone InsomniaX is passive and hence will not cause permanent damage a simple reboot of the system will remove all traces of Insomnia, until loaded again.

Please check the website for information on how to repair/uninstall InsomniaX

Reply to both below:

The current Apple line of MacBooks support clamshell mode and is safe to do so, as well as the PowerBooks support the clamshell mode as well.

As far as Apple has told (limited) us is that the iBooks do not support clamshell mode, although everyone that has used their laptops in clamshell mode have not reported any heat increase.

However if your still concerned that you may fry your Mac, keep a eye out on the temps using other software on MacUpdate.

Please also note this whole "may" over heat is in the readme file.

PS. The only time your laptop really may suffer is if you do a process that uses the cpu non-stop, or you put the laptop in a bag (this is a confirmed killer)

Version 1.0 was NOT ment to be published on MacUpdate as it does contain some minor bugs and is a CHOICE upgrade.

If you do not wish to use 1.0 please goto http://semaja2.net/insomniaxinfo and i will provide the download link for 0.4 soon

Sorry for the inconvenience, also the file that was also uploaded to this website was corrupted and should be fixed in a few minutes
