My favorite complaint: the installer asks for my system password. My personal opinion-that is always a bad practice.

Geeky; not for you average user. You must set ports and there are some error dialog boxes that challenge the casual Mac guy.

FLAC has been around longer and is more accepted by the open software community (in general) than Apple Lossless Codec. FLAC and ALC both have strengths but I have found ALC usually has a (slightly) smaller file size. The results seem to vary by music complexity. ALC works with Apple's music streaming technology, also.

The Dashboard eats huge resources; one can really see the difference have a G3 or sub 1hz G4. One you have invoked Dashboard, the app will continue to make calls on your system resources even if you leave the Dashboard environment. This is a problem with widget browsers.

This software is one of 2 easy solutions and I thank the author.

Warning Will Robinson: Juicer is the name of an audio library application by Digital Juice.

This is a better app but prior art may bite you.

The publisher hasn't figured out the whole application launch thing. The frog sits nicely on my doc, that's worth something.
