I used to like Opera. I've been using it since it went free (with ads). But lately, its actual performance (not talking about the browser tests) has been lacking on certain sites, especially sites that load content dynamically, like Facebook. Keep scrolling down the FB wall and you'll see what I mean. Opera will start to throw the beach ball at you. I was hoping this issue would be fixed by version 12, but it seems to be an issue deeply embedded in their engine that would require time and effort to fix, as mentioned by themselves (sorry, don't have quote). I really hope they pull together for version 13. I also remember that certain sites like CNet lagged heavily in Opera 11.x. How did they fix it? By removing box-shadow property on CNet. That's an ugly fix. Patching sites instead of the engine? Now I know it's no easy task but this engine isn't impressing me.

tldr; Don't fall into the browser test hype. Opera as of late has been bandaid fixing their engine. There is some serious issues with it, mainly in the dynamic aspect that needs some serious addressing.

Growl is great when it works, however, the process seems to stall when I put the system to sleep after a few times. No, it's not the notification settings that's keeping it to stick, the whole process craps up with a beachball as I hover over them. I use an external monitor hooked up to my MBP. Not sure if that's causing it, but it does work most of the time and for that I'll give it a 4 out of 5.

Also, why isn't there an option to manually place the notification?

Wouldn't it make more sense to be able to place it beside the dock in the corner of the screen to fill in the gap? Is there a reason this can't be done?

It seems I didn't fully uninstall version 1.2 so disregard this unless I run into the same problem in the latest versions. Sorry.

As someone who migrated from Windows recently, I was happy to see CCleaner on Mac. One thing that didn't seem to work was removing address box entries in Google Chrome. I rechecked every option under the Google Chrome section to clear it out but it didn't clear even after quitting the browser. I had to manually go into Google Chrome's preference panel to clear that out. But otherwise it seems to work well. Thanks!
