Great little utility -- I wouldn't be without it. I've used it for years with utter reliability. It gives me the ability to create and user individual iPhoto libraries for different categories of pictures -- I have about 30 covering professional and personal use. It is quick and easy to use.

This is much safer than albums within a single database which is how iPhoto works. For me, one big database is risky. Damage or lose it and you've lost the lot. With multiple databases, any loss will be small.

My MacBook on OS X.6.2 started behaving oddly. Some programs (Eudora, Personal Organizer, Mike's Cards Lite) started to be flakey. Boot and shutdown times were getting longer. Then I installed the updates for iTunes (which I almost never use, but I like to keep the versions up to date) and something else (forgotten what it was, but it was in Software Update), and I was in serious trouble. Eudora crashing, Personal Organizer wouldn't launch, EarthDesk wouldn't launch, Mike's Cards was taking seconds to move a card, after launching at a stagger. Booting up took forever, shutdown took minutes.

Many runs of Disk Utility made no difference.

I ran Maintenance 1.2.5 which told me that I had entered an incorrect password (I hadn't) but when I clicked on "Execute" it worked. I ran the default maintenance. Then I shut down for a few minutes, and rebooted.

Hallelujah, babe! I was up and running again with all systems GO~!!!

I've just upgraded to Maintenance 1.2.6.

I have used iPhoto Buddy for several years now (currently running on X.4.11 with iPhoto 6.0.6) as a professional tool. It provides a facility which I am astonished iPhoto does not provide -- it allows you to have multiple photo libraries. I have just counted -- I have 49 covering different places, different activities and different interests. Plus the family one, of course, which makes a round 50!

iPhoto Buddy allows me to set up a library quickly and easily, then to access it in moments.

I wouldn't be without it. And since I need it, I have shown its creator my appreciation by donating. I urge you to try this neat program and support it too.
