I love this utility, but this version won't launch for me. I get this message: "'BatChmod' is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." Tried d/l'ing twice from here and also from the developer's site -- same problem. Also, there is no info here or at the dev's web site saying what's new in v1.7. Running Mavericks 10.9.1 on MacBook Pro 5,5. (Ratings apply to version 1.6.3)
[Version 1.7b3]

4two4: Thanks, that worked! This appears to be a bug (or maybe an unwelcome design change) in Mavericks. With an untrusted app, you used to get a more benign message than "throw it away", and then you could bypass the warning by right-clicking the app and selecting "Open". You only had to do that once to mark the app as "trusted by me". But I tried all that and it didn't work, so thanks again for figuring out the work-around.
