Father, husband, Executive Recruiter (i.e., I am retained by a client co. to recruit executives and technical hands on management away from their current applicable jobs into my client's company. I don't find people jobs. But, if you're reading this, you should be sure I know who you are. Send me your resumé.
I am a Christian who is a hands on participant, 24/7.
I've been a Mac user since Jan, 1989. I'm perhaps slightly more technical than an average user. I can get around and solve smaller problems. I do, however, stay current by reading MacSurfer.com, which his a Mac related site that categorizes and displays Apple related headlines or subject matter from lesser known blogs to well known tech. sites, to WSJ, Forbes, CNET, MacWorld, and etc.

I have been using Yasu, a free app, for quite a while. Many more "geeky" friends recommended Yasu to me. After 4 or 5 years I have been happy with it.

I am not a real big fan of jumping into "clean up" software more because of security fears.

I started using OnyX a couple of years ago and compare the results to Yasu.

Being a MacNut since 1989 I am pretty good getting around in the computer. I am far from being a qualified technician on the Mac OS or apps I buy. I always read lots of reviews and check for product reviews at CNet and MacWorld. OnyX has gotten great reviews.

It is a prettier app. Yasu is very basic. No frills. I think OnyX does a more comprehensive job than Yasu.

At the end of the day. I like it. OnyX seems to be doing all they say it does. After several years using it I have had no problems. Using OnyX one week and Yasu the next, they both seem to take care of the things I want to be sure of. But, OnyX gives me a better representation of what it's actually doing and seems to make my MacBook Pro 17 run much better after running the app.

I can easily give it 3.5 out of 5. I think it's a 4 and possible a 5 in some parts. I'm just not qualified to go further than I have.

Hope this helps.
