Now comes with Chatzum-A adware trojan at no extra cost - and this is in the installer downloaded directly from their website - awaiting a response from their customer service!

Mine would constantly crash after 5-10 mins without doing anything. So after the tenth crash I removed it and reinstalled 10.7 - happy camper now. v11 has absolutely the worst looking GUI I've ever seen, it looks like a third party music player rather than the polished products I'd have expected from Apple. For the life of me I can't understand why?

To remove it I had to change permissions on the iTunes 11 app to as an error message would pop up saying it can't be deleted as it's needed by the OS. Then I just installed 10.7 straight from the DMG without the need for Pacifist. I deleted then copy/paste and rename the .itl file as suggested below and had to re-sign into my apple account but all working happily without the need to reboot or anything.

Please Apple sort this out - it's like iOS6 all over again.

Correction, I had to do the 10.7 install again using Pacifist and then repair permissions with disk utility as I was getting the iTunes store error (-42408) which is permissions related.

Now all working as it should be.

Works nicely for me and so much quicker than the Beebs own iPlayer Desktop (which for various reasons I have to route through a VPN). Incidentally the latest version of Aunty Beebs app won't launch at all now and Adobe Air won't update either - Safari problem methinks!!

GUI is a touch primitive but easy enough to use and nice that it saves in mp4 so I can stream straight to my TV via PS3 using PS3 Media Server (another great free app).

So apart from maybe some GUI tweaks in future updates I can't think of any reason not to be chuffed to bits, especially since it's free.

I am indeed British.

Bye the way occasionally programs will fail to download due to a "failed or bad proxy". When this happens submit the report as the app asks and wait a couple of days for the proxies to be updated. This happens when the BBC makes changes and is not the fault of the app. Get Iplayer Automator has now added ITV programs so hopefully this app will follow suit.
