Bug-o-rama. Just check out the support page for this software on the developer's site and you'll see a really nice developer but a product that is ENDLESSLY updated with beta, after beta, after beta, with new bugs introduced each time.

I really like this developer but the product is clunky, and with Mavericks it's become unusable. Mail disappears after you file it. It reappears after you file it. It stops filing suggestions properly. It's UI becomes disconnected from the app.

IF this app were a $5, I'd not complain. But I paid full ride for this mofo, and I am not happy about it. Even after countless countless conversations with a friendly developer, it is simply a messy, overwrought system plagued with too many nerdy-features, while the one that most people need (filing on send and filtering) simply does not work well. Not at all.

This license says "demo" (under "information"). What exactly does this mean and how does that differ from the regular priced version that can be downloaded on the app store?

Is it upgradeable? Are any of the features crippled/turned-off?

I bought this at 4.1.x and upgraded to

This program does not work. I've tried over the past several weeks to get the program to work, and while support team is very responsive, they continue to just put me in a loop. Delete program. Delete backups. Reinstall. Restart. Redownload. One after another, now they've asked me to download the 4.1.14 version, saying it's the most stable. Even worse.

All I want is the ability to backup my SMS messages. But I can't see them. While all the other things work such as downloading/extracting photos or mP3's, this program is NOT stable.

Hi Chris,
Pretty sure it was you who offered me a refund via the regular support channel because my SMS messages were not appearing.

I now have the latest version, which in fact in the upgrade you mentioned that the reason for the update was to address my exact SMS issue.

It actually *does* now show the SMS messages. However, they're disorgranized, not by phone number, and some threads have messages stuck with other phone numbers!

What's more, photos are not archived.

I love the potential of this product but I am leaving this at 1 star--it does not function properly yet.

This WAS one of the best clients out there. MW gave it a huge boost with glowing reviews. Then came this summer. Client can't open shortened URLS in browsers without adding extra code, rendering the page broken. You can't view pictures.

What's worse: Yourhead software people blame Twitter. And are threatening to stop development, which is their right, but people paid for this app, including me, and now they are blaming Twitter for bugs.

I understand their new version is now free because a) they're selling ads on it, and b) they're thinking about killing it off.

Again, it's their right. But how about fixing the bugs instead of trying to bait and switch those of us who PAID for an ad-free version by claiming it's not your fault?

Do NOT download.

I've been a Transmit user since version 1, and have always loved it's ease of use, low use of system resources, and overall stability.
4.0.5, however, throws most of this out the window, and a flat answer from support on a critical problem (CPU throttling) leaves me wondering if I made a mistake in purchasing the upgrade from 3 to 4.

On the good side, it's much easier to connect to remote servers. Now for the bad:

1. It's not as fast as they claim. I've noticed not much of a change in speed from 3
2. After a few moments or about an hour, or somewhere in between, you will notice (and the developer acknowledged this to me, only saying "it will be fixed"), the software goes haywire, flashing status in the bottom of the pane, then your fan stars, and your CPU is at about 95% dedicated to... Transmit. Restart and you're fine.
3. The loss of the "drawer" feature stinks. It's MUCH harder to use your "places" in 4 than 3, and currently your Places get lost when you quit, so much for ease of use
4. The UI is schizophrenic. Sharp design on one side, flat white on the other, and when they're both remote and local servers active, it is hard to distinguish this pane from a finder window.

Overall, I would NOT buy this product at this version. I suspect they'll fix the problems soon, but the UI leaves me wanting and the speed claims are plain hooey.
