Well, even if the power did decrease on the left side USB port, my battery is definitely much healthier now. It runs longer, but according to the iStat Pro widget, its health went from about %57 after 59 charges, to 100% after 62 charges. I won't even pretend to know everything that this update does and how it worked, but it does seem to have made a dramatic difference to my battery. I still wonder about the USB bus though. See my post below to see what I'm talking about.

Is anyone else having issues with USB power after installing this update? I have only had it for a few minutes, so I can't even assess whether my battery is healthier yet, but my bus powered external USB drives no longer work on the left side of my machine, and have to go serially into the right side (before I could connect them to a cooling pad that connected to the right USB port, and they'd power up without issue).

The drives still work fine on the 17" MBP in our studio.

Does the battery patch throttle USB bus power? Can anyone else duplicate this behavior?
