Some much needed features that make Finder more tolerable. I can't live without "Arrange folders on top", "Automatically adjust width of Name column" (thanks for putting the "max width" option), "Press Return to open selection", "Press Backspace to go back", "Show Go Up button", the "New Terminal/File here" menu item, etc. Many more could/should be added, I have many ideas that could enhance things but I am too lazy to start programming Objective-C and learn the OSX APIs, so I am hoping the developer will continue to fix problems and extend the app.

Speaking of which, I think he could improve his communication, he probably looks too busy or doesn't want too much publicity. I am sure he reads the comments though. Anyway, there is nothing wrong of trying to patch the Finder if Apple is not brave or smart enough to improve it.

The legacy label colour painting is great, I was very dissapointed Apple decided that labels should only be used for oragnisation purposes while they could serve as a visual aid as well.

I noticed that the label colour is passed for soft links in icon and column view (but not in list view), Finder does not pass it regardless. I am not sure if I like this behaviour (could have an option in the preferences) but it would be cool to have consistency for all views.

It's a "next" version but you can see what they think of the future and how much they care about their community. Don't expect them to bring back bookmarks, UI customisation by user, tab management, css and site preferences, etc (the list is long). They can set the argument about the post-pc era, etc. I am also a desktop user (I use the web more on my mac more hours than on my tablets/phones/gadgets) and I am staying with 11.64 (12.x was too buggy, you could predict such a bold move months ago by their reluctance to fix things) until I have to migrate to Firefox as my main Web Browsing tool.

Thanks for the "Max width" option.

I have noticed that "drag-moving" a dual panel XtraFinder window (using a tool such as HyperDock, Flexiglass, etc) lags too much.

This is my favourite tool in MacOSX to unarchive LHA and LZX formats. I really wish it could handle DMS images directly instead of converting them first to ADF.

This is a real gem; one of those applications that makes you proud/happy you are a Mac owner.

The UI could be better in a few places, e.g. in the Palette window, and you feel some functionality is hidden, but once you play a few times with it and study the examples in OrderedBytes site you 'll find it intuitive and rather easy to master and the results can be very satisfying.

I really like the ability to import/export different settings selectively and the ability to enable ControllerMate based on whether an application is running or not either in the foreground or the background.

I was looking to transform one of my macs into a HTPC/gaming center. With ControllerMate I 've managed to configure multiple joystick controllers and gamepads for MAME use, bluetooth Logitech devices that were not recognised by the Logitech Control Center, etc.

Probably the best $15 I 've spent on Mac software.

I tested version 2.2.2 with OSX 10.6.4 and XQuartz 2.5.2. Unfortunately it doesn't work (you have to do a sudo chmod 755 /opt/com.bitaxis/bin/freeciv-gtk2).
