I'm sure it's very different "in the way it's operated", whatever that means.

However, the features as advertised sound a lot like skitch, and skitch works really well. I just can't see the point in trying this software.

Just installed this today on my iMac G5 for use with my new USB skype phone (http://www.yealink.com/en/view.asp?ClassLayer=4).

Works an absolute treat. The phone itself turns out to just be an external sound device with buttons that can remote contro l the skype interface (A tip: you can also redirect system audio in/out to the device, which means you could use it to voice chat in ANYTHING).

All in all, for a AUD$50 device, I'm extremely happy, and seriously considering moving up to one of yealink's wireless options.

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED **** out of ****

Um, because it worked, you wingnut, which was the point of the entire review (and the software).

Although the phone's manufacturer might (and I say MIGHT) say it's windows only, using this software it WORKED A TREAT on my G5 (is there an echo in here?).

Get a clue.

Impressions from a desktop background JUNKIE (listed in order during my first use):

User interface:
In an era of beauty vs useful geeky simplicity, this interface, unfortunately, falls closer to the latter. A tip: Get a friend or pay someone to put some thought into the interface if you're unable. I should mention that some of the shortcomings seemed to be overcome by using the "platinum" theme, which at least made it look a little more "Mac". **__

Functionality:
Brilliant. My 3 absolute favorite sources (WikiPedia, Astronomy POD and Nat. Geo) in one convenient place. It all seems to work well (I'll definitely post again if it doesn't update tomorrow morning properly, though). ***1/2

Usefulness:
Fantastic. Much easier than browsing myself, although it does seem like it will detract from the "fun" of browsing and seeing what else might be on the related sites. ***1/2

Overall, I really like it, but wish it had a more "professional" interface. If this is a sole developer - I haven't looked at the "more info" page - you're a total legend, keep up the good work. Definitely marking this one as one to keep an eye on. ***1/2

"piterpan": Do you really expect us to take your comments re: "attention to detail" seriously when your own "ttencion" is so lacking?

In any case, there's just no need for another browser, unless M$ decide to re-open development and give us an up-to-date, comparable version of their product for our platform.

This project was obsolete before it began.

It's got a nice gui, etc, but the one feature I wanted from it (upnp client) seems not to work with my mediatomb server. I know the server works, because I already use it with my PS3, but on the Mac I seem to get nothing. CPU goes NUTS, and I get some audio, but nothing else.

Most disappointing. When will a decent upnp client for Mac appear??
