beebeebabyblue had trouble on 05 Apr 2013
I just bought my first iMac, and discovered I bought the bundle with Parallels, Internet Security 2013, etc., and ordered the thumbdrive. This morning I installed Internet Security first (from the thumb drive). It needed to reboot the computer, but when it did I got nothing but a blank screen. I shut the computer off, restarted, and got the same thing. I then pulled out the thumb drive and the external hard drives and tried to reboot again. Same thing. Next I started hitting the function keys while rebooting, and got the message that there was no drive to boot from. Now what??? I left the computer like that and had to come to work. Please understand that I have been using pcs since the beginning of time, and am just familiarizing myself with the mac. It's set to run backups to an external drive, so hopefully what I need is still there. Do I need to run it into the Apple store? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
