DO NOT TRUST YOUR SENSITIVE DATA TO EVERNOTE

I've had it with evernote. This past friday after the auto update message appeared I clicked OK to update. After Evernote restarted, I saw that some of my notes were gone. SECOND time in less than 3 weeks!

I had important data saved to Evernote for a business meeting with a client and it's gone. I emailed Evernote support but they still haven't gotten back to me.

This is my second review for PB. For those of you who are giving postbox rave reviews try finding an old email from a client that has an attachment you again need. Sure you can open the ATTACHMENTS window but if like me you happen to have hundreds of attachments it's quite a drag to find what you're looking for. Whey not just make it possible for PB to search for messages with attachments or at very least put an attachment column in the search window so you can at least click on it and sort.

PLUS, PB has a major bug. A couple of months ago I discovered that when searching for an email that came from a certain email address PB often can't find it! For example, I regularly receive emails from LinkedIn. If I try to search for "linked" without the "in" PB will return no results. Try it for your self. I contacted PB support about this months ago and their lame response was that it's google's fault. They're fix was that I had to go OFFLINE to force PB to search locally. Seriously?!

Before I get any negative feedback to my review, I'd like to clarify that I understand bugs happen but there was a long back and forth between PB's support team and myself before I was finally able to get them to accept that this search bug is indeed a bug and that their work around is lame.

They also took a long time to respond and as mentioned above, it's been months since I reported this bug and haven't heard back.
As you can see PB's search capabilities are seriously crippled.

I can't wait to upgrade to Mountain Lion as I've read that Apple Mail is supposed to be much better than the one in Snow Leopard (which is the reason I started using PB in the first place)

I've been evaluating Mailplane and Sparrow lately but have yet to make some time to really get into it. Any feedback with your experiences?

I don't use the search bar because I come up with too many results. Isn't the idea behind the Advance search to allow you to narrow your search better? Right now your Advance search is doing exactly the opposite. You're not able to narrow down by emails that have attachments. Even if Google doesn't support partial string searching, why limit PB? As soon as you invoke the Advance search command you can force PB to first 'Get Mail' and then just do a local search. Or am I missing something?

Have you ever used Outlook's advance search on a PC? Not that it was perfect but it indeed is an advanced search tool.

I've owned PostBox 2 for close to a year. The reason why i purchased it was because I was fed up with the way Apple's Mail client handled both attachments and it's windows. Apple's Mail would annoyingly show attachments in-line with the text as default. Not as icons. Sounds minor but if you use your email for business you'll agree with me. Apple's Mail cannot do tabbed windows either.

About 2 weeks ago the PostBox team release version 3. I got excited about this but coincidently enough, the same week of the release, I had to use ICal to schedule automatic reminders. The problem started when I noticed iCal insisted on using Apple mail to send such email reminders. I immediately figured that a quick email to the PostBox team will help fix the issue. So I started looking the usual SUPPORT tab that PB usually shows you when you hit the HOME button. Guess what? Not there anymore. It seems they got rid of it and instead now only shows the "BUY POSTBOX 3!" advert.

I then went to their site and couldn't find a way to email them either so I went back to my email and looked the an old email thread with another PB issue and figured I can just reply to the email there. I did but they would not respond. Not even the usual automated acknowledgement. I then went to their FaceBook fan page and posted a comment that I can't get in touch with them. My comment was deleted in less than 15 minutes or so.

I then headed back to their website and this time I initiated a bug report. I finally herd back from them and they suggested to check a couple of things as well as run a couple of scripts. After a few email exchanges (most of them being a status request) the communication when silent. As of this writing I haven't heard from the PB support team and it's been about a week or so since I last heard from them.

While I would love to find out a way to prevent Mail from handling reminders, the major source of my dissatisfaction is not the lack of communication on their part. While it's totally understandable that figuring these things out can get tricky, I don't find it acceptable for a support team to ignore a customer's request as they have.

Bottom line: If you like PB go ahead but good luck if you find a bug which is not on their database of fixes. And if you are anything like me where you would expect support to be customer support driven as opposed to transaction-driven, you'll be disappointed.

Oh and there is no way to contact PB by phone at all either.
