Finally, I can recommend that even new PHP developers bother to set up and install xdebug on their development machines, as Codebug finally allows even novices to tap into the debugging power of xdebug. Codebug brings simplicity (at last) to xdebug output, and provides a reasonable (and great looking) interface to the underside of your Web (PHP) application. I'm not affiliated with the developer, but I've been watching this software develop during the past few months, and I must say the 1.0 release has been worth the wait.

Just marked my fourth year as a dedicated user of DeltaWalker, and it just keeps getting better. The developers are top-notch and quick to respond on the off chance you have a problem or suggestion. I definitely consider this a "must have" in my development toolbox now.

Adobe Illustrator -- in fact, all of Adobe's products -- were the "must have" apps for designers in the 1990s. Unfortunately, they are still the "must have" apps: Not because they have kept up with technology or even improved in a useful way, but because they have managed to patent just about every piece of the package, making it impossible for anyone else to truly innovate in this field. Meanwhile, they continue to raise the price of each upgrade without improving stability or valuable feature sets.

You'll buy this because you have to; not because you want to.

Overall, Chrome is a solid, reliable browser, and it's what I use every day. Google's insistence on using its own buggy/crappy Print Preview instead of the system-level dialog box, however, throws me into a rage each time I try to print a page to PDF. Truly a garbage feature that needs to be either stripped out, or at the very least, allowed to be overridden. This is a great example of Google's vision being less than that of Apple's; unfortunately, with each new version of Chrome, it gets harder to eliminate this "feature." (And yes, I DID just post this after encountering the "preview" screen again after a silent update. grrr....)

This is fantastic. I bought it as a MacUpdate promo, but having used it for only a couple days, I can honestly say I'd pay full price for it with no qualms. Can't wait to see how this app develops, but even if it doesn't, still worth the price!

I've been using DeltaWalker for at least three years now, and have yet to find another Diff/Merge tool that approaches the power and ease of use of this app on OS X. Indispensable for developers who find themselves needing to refer back to earlier versions of files, etc. When combined with a good version-control system (command line Git or the capable CornerStone subversion client, for instance), it makes managing changes a breeze.

I've been using this for years, and just realized I haven't taken the time to praise it publicly yet. It stays out of the way until I need it, but is immediately ready when I hit the hotkey for it. I use it several times a day without even thinking about it -- perfect productivity enhancement for OS X! Still can't believe it's free.
