Yet another update. I guess the NSA is fine tuning its backdoor spying app.

A very useful tool to import old emails into Apple Mail. Sadly, it does not work on Mavericks 10.9.2. Please update!

Nice idea, but the app will nag you every other click to upgrade.

Archiving an IMAP account mailbox to an "On My Mac" folder does not include ALL attachments. Very unrealiable and frustrating process for anyone who wants to preserve all past emails as they were sent and received!

Good idea. But PDFs take lots of space, and attachments such as photos can be cut across two pages.

Can this application download emails and their attachments directly from Yahoo and Gmail server, or does it import it through Apple Mail?

I am looking for an application that would download ALL my emails AND their attachments and archive them on my computer, and wonder whether DTPO does that.

I want the application to connect directly to my Yahoo and Gmail account, not take from Apple mail. Apple mail erratically, and one is never sure if attachments has been archived or not. Many times, I found myself clicking on an email I already archived, just to see Mail trying to connect to the server in order to retrieve its attachments.

Therefore, relying on Mail to store locally all emails is not a sure way to have everything archived. So how DTPO can guarantee that everything has indeed been archived?

@Lev
Thanks for your answer. I tried to archive all my emails to an "On my Mac" folder, but Mail failed to download all the attachments. One is never sure if everything has indeed been archived locally. I will check if MailSteward does that. Thanks again.

I need a tool such as this one for Apple Mail, that would download ALL my emails AND their attachments from ALL my folders and archive them on my Mac or on an external external hard drive.

Thanks for your response. Actually, I would be happier if the application, instead of just taking from Apple Mail, connects directly to my Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail accounts and download everything there is including all attachments and store them on my computer. With hard storage being cheap these days, I would actually feel safer than having my stuff archived to the cloud, God knows where.
