My experience was exactly similar to Jeff-H, my keyboard seized up and no keystroke would make any contact with the computer. When I went to uninstall Double Command my computer asked me for a password to trash, which I couldn't provide as my keyboard wouldn't function to let me enter it! Eventually I managed to uninstall the components from Applications, User-Preferences, ~Library/Startup Items and ~Library/Launch Items, using the computer in Target Mode (having set it with mouse-click to restart in such in System Preferences/Startup mode; and trashing the components from my laptop to which my desktop with keyboard was attached.
My only comment to add is that I already had KeyRemap4MacBook installed, though i had disabled it. But perhaps the issue was a conflict there. At any rate I have gone back to using my forward-slash as forward-delete using KeyRemap4MacBook and won't let Double Command on the computer again.
