Every use after 2.0.8 is useless to me. My problem: VLC can't stream audio via AirPlay to my stereo system anymore. On the screen of the stereo system the airplay pops up for a second, then it vanishes, pop ups again, and so on. No sound is streamed. This makes VLC useless to me, because I can't watch movies or listen to music anymore.

Every release I mean.

Wow, so many people giving poor scores because cover flow is missing? I mean, yes, it was nice, useful for some, but seriously? Take away a star, not all of them.

After testing iTunes 11 for a whole day, I must say it's a solid release and I am happy they took another month to polish it. iTunes froze one time for me shortly after I installed it. I wanted to quit but it didn't quit, I think it was a problem with AirPlay. Anyway.. "Up Next" is a great feature for me, I often skip songs and now I can just put whichever song I like in the list. Yes, it does not replace DJ, but I didn't use it so I don't care. If your music life depends on iTunes DJ, you might stick with the old version for now.

The iTunes Store works good, I like the layout, but on my MBA 2012 it's not 100% fluid, kinda like the App Store, I hope for improvement.

What I forgot: I have tons of playlists in iTunes, for every artist and a few genres (Rock/Metal, Classical and Jazz to be exact(, that's how I listen to music. That works well for me with the artist list and looks good, too.

One of the major improvements: The search engine. Now it actually shows useful stuff right from the start, if you search for "Adele", it shows the playlist, artist, album and songs, great.

Another good thing: Genre. Now you have a list of all your genres and can edit songs more easily. I have to clean up soon.

That's my take on iTunes 11, I hope it helps some people out there, who are unsure about upgrading.

And don't forget to make a Time Machine backup in case you want to revert back to iTunes 10 ;)

Everything went smooth. The only weird thing is: My 2012 stock MBA now has allocated 512MB VRAM for the HD4000, prior to the update it was 384MB. Scrolling in Safari seems smoother, but the rest looks the same for now. Have to test it a bit more.

I think you can check the VRAM usage with iStat Menus.

I never got used to the mail client from Apple or any other company for that better. They all seem to use a UI, that looks like it has never changed since 1998. Who still marks his mails "as read" these days? I need to organise my mails so I can find them later, if I have to. Sparrow has a great UI in my opinion, it's fast, looks good and everything is super smooth.

BTW: Sparrow has been updates (bugfixes only): Version 1.6.4 (1176)

I love how little resources Movist uses on my 2012 MBA. It even beats VLC, but there is one major flaw: It uses a lot of RAM: The inactive RAM will go up until it's full, depending on how big the movie file is. So if you watch a big file (4-8 GB), your RAM will be eaten alive. It can become free again when you delete the played movie, but it doesn't always work. Why doesn't Movist release the RAM when it's closed?

I bought this on the App Store. Right now it's useless for me. I was hoping for Mediafire and Zippyshare support. They are the only good filehosts today, where you don't have to wait XX seconds to download anything or are limited by whatever. A few days ago I sent the dev an e-mail to ask, if there will be support for the two hosts in the future, no answer so far.
