Thanks to the great work of those contributing to MacGPG, the suite has become much better compared to a few years ago. It is worth every single of five stars by now!

Excellent application and great support by the author - a true five star tool!

The official webpage of Trillian is misleading since it states Skype support which is NOT TRUE for the Mac version. And it's not the only feature missing in comparison to other platforms. Make sure you try the free adware release before you consider to buy Trillian, you might be very disappointed otherwise.

Sublime Text really lives up to it's name. And since it runs on OS X as well as Linux and even Windoze, it's a good choice for long standing Mac dudes like me who are increasingly irritated by the way Apple behaves and who might switch to Linux in the future.

By the way: Sublime Text 3 is now in public beta.

Like the new version number policy or not, but it's a fact that Firefox has improved a lot in way less time lately. It's once again a strong competitor along with Chrome and Webkit which is good news for innovation and future development of any browser. As a result the dire days of cross-browser compatibility nightmares for developers like me are slowly fading. Time to say thanks and upvote a great initiative (particularly in the light of some trolls casting ill-founded one-star ratings recently).

The 1.14.0-rc1 works on OS X Lion, the minimal OS X version is 10.6.

Okay, it lacks some features, but the reason why this app didn't survive the first day of my trial: It stopped responding to click events on whatever element more than once. Cmd-Q and restart fixes this, still, I prefer to stick to the even more lightweight but stable and free DEPOTset.

Very nice indeed:

If you don't want to click twice all the time (first to focus the window, second e.g. to select a tool), open a terminal and issue the following command:

defaults write org.x.x11 FocusFollowsMouse -string YES

Excellent work, way better than using gitk with optimized fonts on a Mac.

The Java Pref Pane (what a glorious name for a mere launcher of a config app) is broken on my Maverricks since the 1.7.0_51 update. Auto update cannot be disabled and no JRE are listed.

Here's how to rip it off your Mac again:
sudo /Library/eBookLibrary/

You might want to check out Calibre for the time being. It's clumsy and heavy, but no segfaults there:
