I LOVE this software but the 10.9 requirement is a shot to the heart though. My media server is an older Core 2 Duo Mini that will only run up to 10.7.5. I'm crushed....

Good idea, but doesn't work at all for me. Doesn't recognize for iPhone or iPad without plugging in. When either device is plugged in, the battery indicator always reads 0%. As soon as I unplug either device, the app loses connection and simply spins "Looking for Devices..." Obviously still has some bugs to work out.

Confirm with previous comments. Any version 5.3.X does NOT support Graphire 3 tablets. Last version that supports Graphire 3 is 5.2.6-5.

Latest version is 7.8.1. This software is adequate for the job it needs to do. Latest version worked for me on 10.8.5 with the Harmony 880. Luckily this is the kind of software you only need to use once a year or so. You set up your remote once and you're done until you add new hardware devices.

Version 1.1 appears to NOT generate the necessary pref file (.shuttle.json) if it's the first time you've used the app. Had to go to previous releases page (listed in comment below), download version 1.0.1 (which generated the pref file) and then go back to version 1.1.

I really like the first incarnation of this. It's very clean. My first suggestion, and pretty much a requirement for me to switch to this is the addition of hotkeys/shortcuts. This is a must have. Gotta be able to control iTunes via hotkeys or this type of app is useless to me. I'll be waiting...

Just got an Apple TV. So happy I found this app. I was trying to convert large MKVs with DTS encoding to be compatible with iTunes/Apple TV. NOT ANY MORE! This thing rocks. Does all the work for me on the fly.

For those of you who are having problems with large MKV files, I think you should look at your connection to the Apple TV before blaming Beamer. My Mac and Apple TV are on the same WIRED network. I can stream a 14 GB MKV with DTS without a single hiccup. If you're streaming wirelessly, then that's probably your problem, not Beamer.

Beamer is elegant in its simplicity, but its lack of configuration options, particularly encoding options, means you can't tailor the encoded output for your particular network. Streams for wireless networks should not be encoded at the same (as high a) rate as streams for wired networks. It's just that simple.

Giving the app the ability to output at different rates would be a nice update. The UI could still be very simple, a few radio boxes that simply listed your connection type, e.g. ethernet, wireless G, wireless N. But of course, the code to implement this is probably easier said than done.

Having said all that, this is a MUST HAVE app for any Apple TV owner.

WTH? Version 17 crashes CONSTANTLY! It's totally unusable now. Apparently I'm going to need to download the 18 beta to get any work done now. LAME.

I really like this software. It's got the best interface of all the "media server" software out there. I use media server software primarily to stream movies to my PS3, which means this software has one glaring drawback for me... no 5.1 audio.

I know that by "default" the PS3 only accepts 5.1 audio from disc media, so the fact that this software converts the stream to 2 channel stereo makes sense. BUT, and this is a big BUT, "PS3 Media Server" software has found away around this and streams MKVs with full 5.1/7.1 audio to my PS3 beautifully. Knowing this is now possible, all other media servers (who claim compatibility with the PS3) need to immediately jump on the bandwagon here. This is obviously a well crafted piece of software, but I simply can't use it because of this one failure. I'm not that keen on running 2 media servers at the same time, and since I primarily use it for streaming movies, PS3 Media Server currently serves my needs better.

I will be keeping a close eye on this software hoping they get up to speed on streaming digital audio to the PS3, because as soon as they do, this will become my preferred software.

I think there might be a small bug in lastest version regarding quarantine warning for downloaded files. I have this feature on so I do not get warnings. But what I have recently discovered is that a handful of downloaded apps are not having the quarantine attribute properly removed (presumably because I'm bypassing the quarantine warning) and thus the application will not open. I'm having to manually remove the quarantine file attribute via the terminal is order to "free" the application for use. Obviously, if TinkerTool is going to bypass the warning, the IT needs to remove the quarantine attribute from the application so that it will launch. I've seen this on at least four different apps I've downloaded.

Version 3.1.4 simply won't launch at all for me. Deleted all prefs, still nothing. I got some download errors with 3.1.3 but at least it launched. - 3.4Gz iMac i7 with 16GB RAM.

Just downloaded a fresh copy to my MacBook Pro. Won't launch there either. Both machines running 10.7.3. Something definitely broken with this update.

Version 2.0.1 seems to have broken the ability to make JPG snapshots. PNGs work fine, JPGs give error, 'VLC could not open the encoder." It's like the JPG library is missing or something. This seems like a rather simple thing to break in the context of all the things VLC can do. Hmmmm...

Downloaded some nightlies, 2.0.2 and 2.1.... problem still persists in those versions. Reverting back to 2.0.0 fixes the issue.

Whatever preset I select it does not change the output size. If I load a 1280 x720 movie and select the "iPhone Legacy" I should not get a movie that is still 1280 x720.

Is this compatible with iTunes 10.5? I upgraded iTunes (10.5) and MyTunes RSS (4.1.4) and now everything is broken. When I try to go to the admin URL I get...

It also tells me my license will expire in 30 days, like I've been reset back to demo mode.

Why does this installer install the script into the root Scripts folder (/Library/iTunes/Scripts) instead of the user's Scripts folder (/Users/(name)/Library/iTunes/Scripts)? Not good practice. iTunes wouldn't even recognize the script in this location. I had to manually move it into the iTunes Scripts folder at the user level in order for it to show up in the scripts menu. This installer looks like it still needs some tweaking.

Have owned this product for years and through various iPod models. Has always been at the top of it's class, but it looks like it's been abandoned. No updates in 18 months. I store/backup all my ripped music on my 80G iPod classic. I got a new Mac Mini and went to "restore" all my music to it. Podworks worked fine less the fact that the artwork didn't copy through for about 10% of my music (approx 800 tracks). I know it's there, I see it (embedded in tracks) on my computer at work and on the iPod itself. Somehow it's getting left behind/omitted in the transfer. Wish this app was still getting updated. Haven't found an alternative as good yet. Oh well, I guess the search continues.

Seems to has some serious problems pulling down artwork. A lot of tracks simply won't update/download artwork from iTunes or Amazon. The web interface looks kinds of broken with a bunch of missing artwork.

Seems like a handy little "extension." Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with PathFinder. It installs Automater workflows for 10.6 (Services) and a standard CMI for 10.5, but neither appear in the CM for PathFinder, which I find very strange because even in 10.6, Path Finder still "accepts" standard CM Items. Must be a bug somewhere.

Yeah, I tried restarting PathFinder and the Finder. Neither worked to "initialize" OneWay. I had to actually logout and log back in in order for the Finder to recognize the Automator workflows in the Services menu. I thought it was a bit strange.
