Arq is an incredible backup solution: easy to use, reliable, great Mac interface, fast support from the developer, and rock solid. I backup a ton of stuff to Amazon A3, and some very large folders to Glacier, all for less than $2/month. Version 4 adds many new useful features.

Absolutely indispensable utility.

Just a brief review to say that this application is wonderful: clean, powerful, a keyboard-user's dream. It feels lean and yet has some subtle and very effective power features. Amazing technical support from the developer. Support this application!

Nice Mavericks update to a very useful application.

Has Pages lost the feature it used to have of letting me set shortcut keys for styles? There's not even a menu item so I can even use KeyboardMaestro to workaround. Am I just missing something? Come on Apple.

Bookends is the best. I've tried them all -- Papers, Sente, Endnote. All have nice features (well, it's hard to say that about Endnote). But Bookends has it all: power features, reliability, exceptional customer support, and a long history of continued development and refinement. It may not be the prettiest of the bunch (but Jon is constantly improving that as well, as in this latest update), but this class of application is one where function is more important than style.

I've tried them all: Yojimbo, DevonThink, Together ... you name it. Curio is VERY VERY good. I'm still wrapping my mind around how to use it most effectively for my work (academic researcher/writer). It is changing the way I work. It remains to be seen whether this is good or bad for my productivity. In some ways it works just the way I want (love that I can copy links from Bookends). In other ways I still find myself stumbling over how I want to do things with Curio. By that, I don't really mean "learning how to use Curio." I mean figuring out how Curio and I can come together for a more effective workflow.

No review from me yet, because I'm still too new with this amazing piece of software.

I've been using 2.01 demo for 30 minutes. It definitely has potential with the new index folder feature. But it has crashed on me three times, once with an unrecoverable error (constant relaunch loop); I had to trash the iDocument folder to recover.

Also, there are some serious bugs. For example: make a new smart folder set to file type QuickTime movie (misspelled, by the way). Now edit that same smart folder. You'll see that it is no longer set to QuickTime movie but something else. Same with MPEG4 (gets reset to AVI or something like that).

Oh, one more thing: I set up the SafeBox, put a couple documents in it, and they never appeared in the SafeBox. They did, however, appear in a new collection (unsecured).

Glad to hear from IcyBlaze support. Unfortunately, I found another problem: once created I see no way to either edit or delete a Smart Folder. Am I missing something? Control-click would seem to be the obvious way to pull up a menu to do this, but no luck.

Holy moly KBM has been adding neat features lately. 6.2 continues to make this even better than the already excellent utility that it was.

The bug in 3.5.5 that caused excessive CPU activity (in WindowServer process) bit me. Unfortunately, I never discovered the cause, and ended up doing an entire erase and reinstall of Lion (and reinstall of all applications and documents) to fix the problem. A serious bug from this otherwise reputable developer, and HoudahSpot is a great application, but I sure wish I'd been notified. It would have saved me many, many hours of frustration trying to track down the problem, and many more hours of work going through the erase/reinstall process.
