When this was released, Quickeys was at the top of its game. If you are running Snow Leopard, and have no intent on upgrading the OS. This is an excellent program for keyboard shortcuts, text expansion, and easily created macros.

However running this in Lion or Mountain Lion is a buggy experience, and not so much as a bug fix has been made in two years.

Apparently the company does no programming itself, but contracts out. It was bit it's contractor getting ill and dying, then falling into tight financial times (presumably meaning they couldn't hire a new programmer).

This is not going to work for me as a user. Apple is poised to have a third release of their OS released before Startly can get around to addressing current bugs, assuming they aren't delayed further. And at this point they've lost the benefit of the doubt.

Sad, because I've used Quickeys since the days of System 7 (!!!), and it has almost always been an incredibly powerful piece of software (the shift to OS X did cause a hiccup as they had to start over from scratch, but that was understandable)

So for anyone with a Lion / Mountain Lion version of the MacOS, I'd say you are far better off using Keyboard Maestro. (and TextExpander to replace the text expansion aspect of Quickeys)

My star ratings only reflect the current state of the software, and not it's past. I'd have put up much higher ratings otherwise.
