We had a few videos on disk, a Mac that wasn't new enough to support Airplay natively and a TV that sadly wasn't connected to an aerial - but did have an Apple TV.

I downloaded the demo and dropped a video (an avi) onto it, it asked for my Apple TV password (which it lets you save) and started streaming away. It seemed to work so I paid for the full version and pasted in the registration (thank goodness that worked as it was looooong).

Just finished playing a full film flawlessly - and we had to pause in the middle so (skeptically) grabbed for the Apple TV remote and it did successfully pause and restart the playing of the film - pleasantly impressed. Expect a lot of use in the near future.

When I tried RSS readers a few years back I thought "why?" - it seems to easy to go through my favourite bookmarks on my Mac and I am quite the multiple-tab browsing fanatic.

Then, I used this in combination with my new iPhone. While a great piece of software in itself, this is the iTunes to the NetNewsWire for iPhone's iPod.

It makes it easy to add and organise your RSS feed and read it on you Mac if you like - if you're on your iPhone and you love news, this makes your life a breeze.

Some nice new features (album art browsing, backing up, gapless playback) but editing a Shuffle playlist "unplugged" doesn't seem to work and it is an atrocious look best left to some bad bundled Windows program.

Fugly is the right word. Looks like it's been designed by Microsoft for Vista.

I can stand the custom widgets if they're good looking but that's not the case here.
