Just renewed for another year and then MacUpdate Desktop decided not to work. It starts up, begins the scan, then just sits there chugging away and doing nothing. I deleted and reinstalled but get the same result.

Any ideas what's wrong?

The app and service are a good way to keep non-Mac App Store apps updated with little effort, and usually works without a hiccup. Well, other than listing version numbers that are incorrect from time to time.

This is decent and useful; hardly a one star app. Forget AppleScript. 99-percent of Mac users won't bother with it to automate a reload. Forget the Safari Extension. It doesn't do the same thing. If you want to code and tweak and see a live preview and don't want to spend much money, CodeWatcher works as advertised. At 99-cents it's a bargain (consider workflow, time and effort, etc.).

For those who hate the Mac App Store, get used to it, folks. It's the future but it's here now. It won't be long before many very good Mac apps, including those from Apple, will ONLY be available on the App Store.
