I have used Opera from the start; all the versions have worked well, and without fault;this version Opera Next is built on Chrome; it has an HTML5 score of 360 out of 500, and passes all security tests; it is my "default browser" because it is stable, renders web pages correctly, is recognized by most sites, and has a wonderful "private mode" plus a "Do not track header" I cannot find any issues; it is a "release candidate" and there will be a final at some point; because this uses a different rendering engine, means compatibility with the Mac OSX system; in my case it works without any issues and is a welcome browser!!

I have used this from day 1 with no problems whatsoever; the negative reviews have not informed me of any deletion of preferences in their reviews. What I did to update from my previous version was simply have the finder update to the most current for a Mac; the icons changed from the previous to the most recent.
The application bounces twice in the dock and starts right up with no delay. This is a needed program for complete deletion of internet cookies, cache, history, and temposry files; in a word this program RULES!!!

I can finally say with certainty why all the complaints were made BEFORE the following steps were taken; these were done by myself; as soon as I undated to 12.12, I opened my extensions folder and updated EACH AND EVERY ONE TO THE MOST CURRENT VERSION. Upon doing this, all crashes stopped; all that was necessary was to update plug ins, Adobe Flash, and others. Not once did I read a review of ANYONE doing this to eliminate the crashing. the browser comes in at 404 on the HTML 5 test, it passes the acid 3 test, and has tabs plus it's own password manager. I am not an Opera Fanboy, but I can attest that NO ONE updated the plug ins, extensions; instead only complaints without any action; I did that to prove a point; Opera has been around for a long time, is a "generic Firefox or Chrome, and to those who make reference to the CPU usage; try deleting or updating plug ins; that is what I did; after updating all is well!

This browser caught my attention on the "mixed reviews" so I am providing a objective not subjective review. The browser has the best "security" in the following; complete deletion of your sessions, cookies cache etc. It has "private browsing, it took me for a walk thru for preferences, It may not be"speedy Gonzalez" and it may not have what the users wish as a preference, but in today's world, protection is important; with regards to "crashing" look at third party software and update or remove; like Opera certain browsers require updated plug in's; this is good practice, as Adobe, and others have taken their time on this issue; It came in at 204 on the HTML 5 test; that is fine in exchange for security; you have to go to tools, privacy and clear all trace, that will get rid of all your information. You will notice I require no preferences to make mr happy; just use the browser, and let the"third parties" do what they are suposed to. If an update comes so be it!. It has an "auto remember" function also; this browser is a cross between Chrome and Safari with no plug ins; it's ad block and "pop up blocker" are excellent.

This broswer is wonderful, and I am giving you a review based on use; it uses Safari's web kit, so deletion of cookies, history are the same as Safari; setting it as your default browser, means going to Safari and setting it there; it uses the keychain; after you type your username and password; you will be asked if you wish to save the password. The HTML5 test came in at 319+12 out of 500. This browsr also has a subtle download manager and URL; which you simply bring up by going to File and Open location; This is a "rock solid stable" browser, and using it under conservative usage reveal no "slowdowns; I do not use the "gestures feature" or the Sync feature; this is a web browser for browsing the web. Using Safari cookie cutter will delete the cookies in Sleipnir, also in preferences going to advanced and detete the cookies. Since I have used both the App Store blue and the Black version, I cannot find a preference in either version. I have used both side by side; no diffrence. Lastly it has a full list of user agents fot tough sites! I would appreciate an upfront reviewer saying I "prefer not to use this browser;give me peace please, and simply state that it does not meet your needs!

A quick update to my review; the App store blue 3.6.2 version "remembers" the passwords seemingly better then the 3.8 black version; differences- blue version has no "private" mode" other than that both are the same and the App stoee will release the updated version when necessary, and will notify the user! Cookies are removed using Safari Cookie Cutter as Sleipnir uses Safari's webkit!

I have used all the virus programs and have done a "mini research" on all; except iAntivirus. This program is easy to install, and uninstall, as the uninstall is in the menu; all is removed. Quite a number have "made a choice" to complain about registration; not a problem for this user. Scanning is fast really fast, and it's virus definitions are updated in the background. Using my computer conservativly, only the finder is in the background.

Most of the reviews have exhibited "skepticism" instead of fact and a valid reason.
After downloading and putting Dashlane in the applications folder, I signed up and set up my account; like Clipperz and others, this program uses AES-256 encryption which means it not only is stored on your computer, but Dashlane does not retain or know your password; what you created you must remember; it works with the major browsers except Opera, by storing what is in the browsers password file, and user names. Since this program is like IPassword, Last Pass, and others, it works the same way in retaining your save information. Thee is no need to exhibit "skepticism" when Last Pass, I Password and others do a similar or same job; this is another program which makes saving information and making a purchase easy; either CNet or a similar source gave it a 4.5 out of 5; that is not exhibiting "skepticism" it is giving me facts which I used; you also have the option to save your purchase receipt!

This is my first download of this software; I cannot write about past versions, but this is great and easy to customize; The setup was a breeze, and in my case, I auto log in; that is in the preferences. I also have "sound alerts" for tweets. I do not know what everyone is complaining about. There is no crashing, and it is easy to use and customize!

My review of this browser is based on the "choice" made to complain; I have been a user of this browser for many years, perhaps more than those of you who choose to complain. When I installed this new version I UNINSTALLED the Flash player; it is recommended that the "latest plug in's be installed; all are updated; I did not read of anyone who made sure the plug ins were up to date; I imported my Safari bookmarks; all is OK; I have an EMail account which is part of the browser; that is fine; with this version comes the "Do not track header" which is sent to all websites. Since I have used this browser for so many years and have used it with the idea of security in mind, plus my web browsing, I can find no fault with this browser; I do not complain; I act; one final point; since I made a point to learn about Opera at an early age means that I know it's structure; I use the Wand Password Manager; it keeps the saved passwords under the hood for future reference; a piece of cake to use and learn!

There are too many complaints regarding this browser; I have used it for years paid for it now it is free. What you want are no other programs conflicting with Opera; that means, no programs that will do what Opera will do. Importing bookmarks from Safari was a breeze, and setting up Opera was equally a breeze. With opera comes a free EMail account, and a password manager;no need for keychain access, as Opera has it's own Password Manager; you are also protected from mailware and Phishing. I can't understand the complaints I am reading, and yes, when my session closes, the stored cookies, and all website info are deleted! What more do you want?

There is a simple answer; both Firefox and Safari use more memory, then Opera; using Opera requires a conservative aproach; do not use Quicksilver; use it's own Password Manager, make sure your plug ins are up yo date; This is the "only browser" that has "left handed gestures" I have a paralysis on my right side so this indeed is a tool for the handicapped! Have NEVER had a memory problem with Opera.

You apparently are telling me by "making a choice to do so that you "simply do not like Opera; this IS fact as I "trapped a reviewer and the reviewer broke down that Opera did not met their needs; you are not sorry that I am handicapped; no remark should be made because YOU do not like the browser; simply put those who are complaining do so because of "choice" now some facts the HTML 5 test came in at 325 out of 400; the acid 3 test passed, as well as every security test thrown at it; remove ALL your browsers except Safari and Opera then tell me you have a memory hog because you CHOOSE to have other browsers running; even in the background; that is being conservative; I ONLY have Safari and Opera; there are no other browsers running and no extensions running either!
