Does anyone have any guidelines to a threshold on how many errors is acceptable if you go to the S.M.A.R.T. data in Trim Enabler? I just installed Trim Enabler and it shows 162490621. Just seems like a lot. It does say I have over 8000 GB writes and 4000 GB reads and I image that is bit errors, so I have a bit error rate close to 2.5e-6, which seems high.

What is this total errors number? This morning it showed 0, now it shows 6658364, much less than above after installation and permission repair. Does it get reset on every wake from sleep? Is there more documentation?

Timta2, then it seems that Trim Enabler is very misleading. If you click on the SMART icon, TE gives several values, I am looking at the one labeled "Total Errors". This shouldn't be rocket science. If there is more to it, maybe TE shouldn't say anything if it doesn't know how to report the SMART info for the particular drive.

When I wake from sleep, I see the RAMDisk icon on the desktop, but it soon goes away. It does not then show up as a drive in DiskUtility or anywhere else. I have developed the problem I think after upgrading to 10.6.6 (from 10.6.5).

This was actually a problem with 10.6.6, and has been fixed in 10.6.8

I really want to use this app. When I double click it nothing happens.

Why is it an universal app but then requires 10.6?

The comment below is misleading. It looks to me the RamDisk size can be quite large, at least 1/2 of physical RAM. The slider starts at 16 MB, it doesn't end there.

Sorry for the triple posting below. When I first tried posting I mistakenly posted to reviews, then on trying to post to troubleshooting I got an error, so I tried again. Then when I found an address to send the problem to, and tried again so I could relay the exact error message, well, there are now three postings.

again sorry
