Barcode look-up in 2.4.1 is much better than 2.3.x. Seems to generally grab the info from Amazon faster too, though my first test book took a couple of minutes to fill in.

We still has the ongoing problem where typing in any Info field takes several seconds per letter as it tries to auto-complete with each keystroke. Our setup is not common, but is not unique - we have the DL file on our file server and have created symbolic links to it from our two laptops. This is the same configuration we had come up with for accessing our DL from multiple Macs in version 1 - which did not have auto-complete - and is the suggested but unsupported solution in their Help pages. Since there are only the two of us it's easy to be sure we don't both try to open DL at the same time.
I had opened a ticket with DM about a year ago on this issue and they replied several months later, saying that auto-complete would not cause that behaviour and asking for a copy of our Library. I sent it and have not heard from them since. I was hoping a full dot update would have addressed this, but it has not.

For my list of desired features:
- ability to turn off auto-complete
- double-clicking on text selects the word you click on, not the entire field
- adjust shelf height to fit items actually "on" that shelf instead of to fit the tallest item in the library

This app is invaluable - even in Leopard, and especially for a Mac in a hostile Windows network. Files get added to network volumes and I cannot see them on my Mac unless I un-mount the volume and remount it. This app forces a window refresh and suddenly the added files are there!

Luckily, I still had the copy I downloaded at home several months ago because the links on the author's and MacUpdate's pages point to a file that is no longer there. Either the author is updating the file right now as I try to download it, or the app is now moved elsewhere.

XLD seems very powerful and I like its support of the unending range of audio formats the PC folks seem intent on producing. The Help content seems rather sparse.

There are some odd things about XLD:
- Manually selecting the cuesheet encoding is bizarre, and you have to be sure you set it right or all you get is white-noise. The trick I just figured out is to open the .cue file in TextEdit, then select Save As. In the Save dialogue it will display the file's text encoding in case you want to change it. This took me three hours to figure out this afternoon and I have not started any Labour Day imbibing yet...
- Regarding the file-open dialogue: are we supposed to know to set the bit-rate, endian-ness, etc of a file as we open it?
