Very nice actually. The most important thing about this app is it’s FREE. If an app is fine and free, then that’ll be my favorite.

It looks like the earlier version works fine on my Mavericks, but only when it’s a 32-bit, the 64-bite doesn’t work at all and won’t output any audio, just like the others said. And also, unlock the lock at the bottom of the window and "Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere" seems to me like a real problem, too. Is it safe for the Mac? I really don’t think so.
As for the app itself, what’s wrong with the exit command? Every time I try to log out the program then something happened and the app would not respond at all. Force out is the only way, it works but I don’t feel like doing that all the time. Anyway, other things are fine. If the developers can notice these problems and finally fix them I’ll be thrilled to keep it with me.

It’s a nice-to-have app especially when I use it on my ios devices through the Remote function, it’s not eating up the space, too, that’s good. And another thing is the
player does’t have to be connected to work properly, that’s really impressive and convenient for most people like me who always spend a lot of time on traveling.
Apart from all these, it supports 10.5 Intel ,10.6.8 and PPC, while I gotta admit that the most important feature about this player is it’s FREE, which finally make me made my mind to choose it from all other players.
There’s just one problem I once had with it , that is version 2.0.8 crashes a lot on opening process; while when switched back to 2.0.7, everything looks normal again. That’s one that the VLC team should be working on. Overall, it’s a nice player.

Feels like not so compatible with a Mac for you have to shut down and restart the machine. Some discs were simply unplayable, which is a big bug for me. I think it’s more like a PC thing.
