ABBYY has chosen to cripple the mac version. It is far from being feature parity with the Windows version. The key feature to preview/edit a page before exporting it is not there; which any OCR tool worth its cost has. They are cynical towards the mac market: Over charging for the upgrade, slow for updates and bug fixes, and poor tech support. Good luck getting them to do a demo version. Like Nuance, they seem to dislike the mac market. They will milk the upgrade cost as long and as much as they can. I wasted my money on the upgrade. As for the ocr engine, oh, its very good, just the Gui driving it sucks.

For many years I have been testing how robust your opml is. I am trying to move on from Notebook, but Notetaker locks up or crashs on import of the opml file. I would think you want to make sure importing of opml files works correctly. Yes, I have sent in bug reports and emails. I am using lastest trial version from your website. Testing more soon and feedback. Btw, your verisign stuff is outdated, revoked, or screwed up; which gives pause to visit your support pages. Yep, even import of rtfd file locks up. FAIL

OK, it appears you crippled this app perhaps, nothing imports. Please be honest about what will not work with the trial version.

I am legally blind and the font choice for listing the various readings is too narrow/thin/small to read. I have requested several times for them to use a better font choice. I have not heard back from them over a years time. If they can't/won't fix a simple UI problem, than I will be looking for another tool. Is this tool only for those with 20/20 vision!!!

I made the mistake of buying from the App store my copy. After upgrading to 10.7.x I have had nothing but problems. I have documented to support the bugs. I have yet to hear back from them. They have my 100.00, but I have a broken app. I can't get a refund due to apple's polices. It worked well for the most part under 10.6. I have written to support a number of times, still nothing. Either give me a refund or the windows version to run under a VM of Windows. Never have had such problems with a company. And yes, I have reinstalled many times and still the same bugs.

Folks, this the version of Fontographer you have been waiting for! It is fully worth the upgrade price.

I recently got BP. It fails to find all my brushes. It only sees the blessed preset ones. Is anyone else having this problem? I tried to reindex via spotlight; it still fails to find brushes. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The original MJ didn't impress me but it looked promising for sure. As a blog/Journal tool it is very useful and powerful. The manual (with great screen shots) is better than most I have recently read, though it does have some rough areas. It needs a quick start guide and better coverage of Applescript support. And it fails to explain well how it handles import of text/opml data, which is important for bringing data from files. An example raw text/RTF for import that gets parsed into a journal and entries would be good. As for features, MJ has done a good job understanding what is needed for bloging and journal writing. However, I would like it to support scholarship stuff too, like source tacking and citation (perhaps via tags somehow?). I do wish hilighting text was more than just coloring. It would be useful to put all the blue text into a smart journal. And some kind of annotation tools for pictures would be good too. I do like how it can suck in a folder and its files into MJ. I love quick notes and the import droplets. And internal linking is good with support for aliasing entries which is wonderful. I do wish some how to paste text that gets parsed into a journal and entries. Finally, I want real outlining in the text area of an entry. I did encounter some crashers and bugs, but Dan was great at helping me and fixing them for newer betas. I look forward to using MJ. :-)

Ok with the help from Apple tech support, I did a search in spotlight via ".abr" and somehow it forced spotlight to find all my brushes and thereby Brush Pilot can now too. Strange.
