Creates corrupt rips from perfectly unblemished discs that other apps read perfectly. The resulting files have skips and small segments repeated. Yet another disc may rip fine.

The UI is a bit clunky, because you can't edit title & artist within the track list; you have to pull up a separate metadata-editing dialog. There's also no evident way to deselect all tracks (they're all selected by default); the non-evident way is to click on the "checkmark" column header.

The UI is a bit cryptic but you can use it. Unfortunately, the app created a file that QuickTIme player won't play, by converting an MPEG-4 AVI file into an MP4 file.

In QT Player under Lion, the resulting file had no audio, and appeared to be playing only every third frame or so (although the net playback speed appeared to be correct).

The app detected the contents of the AVI file as MPEG-4 video at 23.97 FPS and two channels of MP3 audio at 128 kbps. The resulting MP4 video file has the same characteristics, according to both QT Player and VLC.

But VLC plays the file correctly.

PowerPC-only? REALLY?

This will not run on current versions of the Mac OS from now on. Lion does not include Rosetta.

PowerPC is dead for personal computing, guys. Time to move on; it's been six years or so.

Thanks for the source. I can compile this, but most people do not know how to compile applications.

I take it back; you CAN'T compile the source, because the Xcode project is either corrupt or in so ancient a format that Xcode 4 can't read it. In fact, the first attempt crashed, and subsequent attempts simply say it's an incompatible project version.

Unfortunately, this is a PowerPC-only app. This means it runs under emulation (Rosetta) on any current Mac. SnowLeopard doesn't install Rosetta by default, so you'll get a warning dialog on first launch.

It has been four years since the Intel switchover. Time to recompile for the current architecture. The OS doesn't even run on PowerPC anymore.
