OK, here comes my xenophobia again.

Regardless of their privacy declaration, Maxthon is a product of the Peoples Republic of China.

I was about to download it until I followed it to its source.

Very good and intuitive. Would like to see two pref changes to make work even easier,

1. Allow users to select default for extension case (i.e, upper or lower). I always have to change from upper to lower, so would like Rename to do this automatically if I select that preference.

2. Allow users to select default for Before/After. Default now is Before, but I always use After.

Those changes would allow me to do everything without picking up mouse (which slows work flow).

But thank you to developer for a great product.

MacUpdate, why would you publish a moronic, comment like this one? Nothing written, just a rating - without supporting information - that might chase away potential users.

China. Use with caution.

Another freebie from China.

Given the possibility/probability that China is behind much malicious serious hacking, would I intentionally put Chinese software on my computer? Who knows what might be hidden there?

I'm probably paranoid, but there are better non-Sino options. In fact, I'd rather pay for such software (GraphicConverter is great) than use a Chinese freebie.

Thorsten Lemke should have been named Pope. He does the best support and continuous improvement in the whole industry.

OTOH, I'm not jingoistic and support overseas companies such as BeLight Software from the Ukraine. Good non-derivative products at reasonable cost.

The overall issue is that Apple has morphed from a beloved customer-oriented company to a grubby, dollar-sign driven schnorrer (look it up).

I've been an Apple evangelist since 1979, but I'm losing faith. They make decisions that customers SHOULD want rather than what customers NEED or DO WANT. Each system upgrade obsoletes more perfectly usable computers or forces users to upgrade expensive third-party software.

Oh, of course no one forces us to upgrade but eventually services such as iTunes don't work with the old systems.

Apple has become completely consumer-insensitive.

How do "Free" and "$14.99" equate?

Apparently the Pearl Mountain folks don't read these comments because they still call their crippled product "free." I wish that MacUpdate would throw these kinds of misleading developers off.

Given that an encryption program could range from a wunderkind to a disaster, what's the value of the two five-star rating that have no comments? Need to have some anecdotal experience before encrypting files.

Not sure the value of these business card programs since one can design and have printed professional business cards online for one-fifth the cost of this program (not including the cost of paper, ink, and printer cost overhead).
