I've continued to try each and every point release of Together 3. I'm still unable to recommend it to even a single client, yet I WANT to use it! The application is beautiful, well thought-out, stable and easy-to-use.

The main reason that I cannot use Together, or recommend it to clients, is it's inability to find single files that:
a. I've newly created in Together
b. I've imported from an external folder.

Yes, it will find some files/documents with no problem, but I've done enough testing with it on different user's machines, different user accounts, and using different sets of data, that I know the search function is inherently flawed. It seems that the developer has attempted to create his own search indexing system, which isn't entirely capable. DEVONthink, Yojimbo, and other applications function just fine, yet Together cannot provide me with simple search results for content that I know exists. My hunch is that the developer should employ some standard Spotlight search indexing functionality, and the search function will be completely different and usable.

This is the only negative that I can find, and I continue to test Together with each release, so I can start to use it every day. But, the lack of a clean, functional search leaves me cold for now.

Some people really need to get a grip and look at what this software really does. It may not be right for simple consumer use, but it is great for business use.
I have a client who just switched from PC to Mac, was using Exchange Server before. In order to keep the "head honcho's" calendar in order they all add events to the Google Calendar. In turn, SpanningSync syncs with his iCal and then his PDA. $25 is nothing for this software because it serves a wonderful purpose and seamlessly integrates with the Mac and iCal. We have had no problems with the software and it works 10,000 times better than .Mac syncing (which costs $99 a year).
The price is justified.

I had been looking for a piece of software to seamlessly keep a client's folder up-to-date with the same client's folder on another machine in my home. I could do it via filesharing, which I had been doing, but I had to manually update one or the other machines. SlingShot works flawlessly. I have encountered no problems with it and the iTunes sync is just cool. I do wish the syncing could be configured to update from a folder outside of my network, but maybe that will come in a slightly later version. Great job guys.
