Very good product - just somewhat overpriced.

What puts this product beyond the partially free competition is its ability to cleanup the iPhoto library in a meaningful way. Other tools would only remove 100% duplicates. This however can e.g. remove the originals of rotated images, the originals of modified images etc. Of course, a "back to original" is then no longer possible. But: this really frees up an incredible amount of disk space.

That feature alone made me pay the money. I think however that at a fraction of the price, the author would actually increase his total revenue, as $40 is too much for many users.

Can only agree to other commentors: great start for a free utility. Easy scan, and especially in times of PhotoStream, there's always a good chance of duplicates.

That said, I't mid term really like to see the possibility to find (and subsequently remove) duplicates of modified files. E.g. when rotating an image, or performing some image enhancements in iPhoto, iPhoto will keep the unmodified original (in order to always be able to revert back to it). It would be an incredible space saver if one would be able to delete the originals.

But I realize that this might require a scan on file system level, whereas iPhotoDuplicateCleaner performs its task by using AppleScript from all I can observe.

But anyway, already great the way it currently is. Thanks to the developer for making this available for free!

Indispensable little plugnin - makes following through on notorious non-responders so much easier :-)

Yeah - 1.3 is running fin e under Lion! The original Growl developer had discontinued development, and handed over to the code of GrowlMail to the OpenSource community. And it seems, a new developer has fixed this for Lion. Many thanks, indispensable tool!

Great virtualization software, and totally FREE! Not quite as feature rich as Parallels or Fusion, but subjectively faster that Parallels, and with most features that average users need like the seemless mode to mix Mac and Windows applications, folder sharing, networking, USB device support and the ability to save the last state for faster start-up.

Not everything in the interface is intuitive, and for some things like how to access shared folders in the guest OS one needs to ask the help function.

But then, it's free, fast and for me also stable. A great way to run Windows on a Mac for occasional use.
