Happy to report that iTunes 11.0.4 didn't break DockArt :D

DockArt 2.2 which works with iTunes 11.0.3 should be available soon. Thanks Gregory!

Why does MacUpdate spread FUD that Thunderbird will be no longer developed? It's just that new features (such as chat or whatever) will be left to the community.

I mean how many new features are you exactly expecting from an email client? Thunderbird will still be getting timely security updates and improvements (the new Australis theme is just around the corner).

Thunderbird will still be actively maintained by Mozilla.

These are not features that you're talking about, they are improvements to the core application, and those are supposed to be still handled directly by Mozilla.

Yes, I did bother to read the linked article. The problem is that ZD Net quotes a bunch of sentences out of context and draws a misleading conclusion.

Go ahead and read this interview with Mozilla's Managing Director of Thunderbird:

"This update is recommended for all iWeb 3 users."

That should read "This update is recommended for all 3 iWeb users."

Sorry, I just couldn't resist :)

Now this is a nice app. The dev suggests using it in a multiple monitor setup, but I think it's just as useful if you have just one large display. It saves you from moving your mouse all the way to the top - especially helpful if you're a heavy keyboard user like me.

Two things that bother me:

- it's using over 16 MB of RAM currently, which may not seem much, but still I think it can be optimized better (OK, I know it's a 1.0 version)

- the menu bar icon is ugly - please change it! (I don't need it myself and have turned it off, but others probably will keep it)

Overall it's a great utility that fills a gap in the design of OS X.

I love the speed improvement. There is a problem after waking up from sleep though. The app freezes with the spinning beach ball when hovering the icon, and the only way to quit is to kill the process.

MenuWeather freezes a second or two after waking up, so I'm even able to open the menu before it hangs.
