No question, Default Folder ist indispensable, and I've been using it now formally, many years.

For this reason, it's getting on my nerves that with each and every update, it also asks for permission to install a scripting addition. I doubt this is really necessary.

It's works well for me, and I like it - except for the horrible icon I have to change with every update.

@ Star-Affinity:
Nothing special. I take an icon of the Flurry set from the Iconfactory - see my avatar. Maybe you can turn it sideways and modify it a bit?

Simplify Media invariably crashes when trying to initialize my library of around 25.000 titles. So far, it is a fruitless exercise for me ...

It seems to work at least as good as RipIt, and the price is very fair.

The only problem I have so far is the very ugly interface. It
looks so microsoftish - lots of superfluous information,
buttons scattered over the window, the window itself
pretends to be resizable, which is not, and so on.
Surprisingly, their website and logo
are very clean, so they do have taste!

The ripping itself seems to be good, though.

I use and like Xld a lot, the conversions are very fast and flawless.

However ... one thing bugs me a lot, and I can not figure it out. Initially, after converting the first tracks, Xld takes an extremely long time - in the range of minutes sometimes - to add these tracks to the iTunes library. Later on, this process is much faster.

I have no idea what is going on here.
